Yesterday, September 19th was the kick off for the series of lectures at the Continuing Studies program at Rice University. It was at Sewall Hall at the Rice Campus. Dr. Denton A. He is currently president and surgeon-in-chief at the Texas Heart Institute; program director for the Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine Thoracic Residency Program; and chief of cardiovascular surgery at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital. This is all completely rumor at this point, but I have decent information that Step 2 CS is going to be retired beginning next year or the year after. This is something that you guys may be hearing around your schools as well. The rumor is that US medical graduates will no longer be required to take the exam, but FMGs will still have some version of it. It’s basically a reversion back to the old days pre-CS for American graduates. Let us know if you’re hearing the same things around your school.powered by www.usmlestep.com

Why Don’t We Starve Them Too?
As my regular readers know, I am opposed to the use of sleep deprivation as an educational tool during residency training. The fact that residents are deprived of sleep as a requirement of their job is undeniable especially given the typical call schedules and the obvious fact that work never stops in the 24-hour-per-day patient processing facilities that most teaching hospitals have become. And yet despite my objections I have never made much of an argument against thi...

For those who have watched the hilarious movie, Mystery Men, you would know who Casanova Frankenstein was.
Anyway, in a Salsa Class (and dancing in general), the essentials imparted are — the women must follow men’s leads. And as so stated, men become better dancers and eventually lead better in the dance floor if women cooperate and let them lead. And this includes suggestions from the instructor to never correct the man even if he twists himself out silly. As long as he does not maim you, the woman should just sway to the man’s beat. I always wanted to see them happening than just imagine it myself after going through the text descriptions. It was an eye opener to the educative aspect of this famous video sharing site. I just had to enter the right key words to search to get into a goldmine of these fantastic science videos.
