Surgical strategies in Ebstein anomaly: 28 years' experience in a pediatric hospital
CONCLUSIONS: The results of the different classic techniques were similar, although not free of complications and reoperations. Cone reconstruction proved to be effective, with low surgical mortality, less need for reoperations, and durability in the medium term.PMID:38687993 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.23000203 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

Clinical practice guidelines for diagnostic and treatment of the chronic heart failure
Arch Cardiol Mex. 2024;94(Supl 1):1-74. doi: 10.24875/ACM.M24000095.ABSTRACTChronic heart failure continues to be one of the main causes of impairment in the functioning and quality of life of people who suffer from it, as well as one of the main causes of mortality in our country and around the world. Mexico has a high prevalence of risk factors for developing heart failure, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity, which makes it essential to have an evidence-based document that provides recommendations to health professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of these patients. This document establishes ...

Atrial fibrillation de novo in acute coronary syndrome
Arch Cardiol Mex. 2024;94(2):181-190. doi: 10.24875/ACM.23000008.ABSTRACTOne of the complications during an acute coronary syndrome event is the presence of arrhythmias. Among them, those of the supraventricular type, especially atrial fibrillation, carry a poor prognosis both in the short and long term, being the cause of situations such as cerebrovascular event, ventricular arrhythmias, and increased mortality. The arrhythmia tends to appear in a certain population group with particular risk factors during the index event in approximately 10% of cases. Appropriate treatment at the time of its onset, thanks to the use of ...

Initial experience with cardiac contractility modulation devices in Latin America for the treatment of heart failure
CONCLUSIONS: The modulation of cardiac contractility is currently a treatment option for patients with heart failure in functional class III-IV, with LVEF 25-45%, and a QRS < 130 ms who are not candidates for cardiac resynchronization therapy.PMID:38631374 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.24000021 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

Impact of a cardiac rehabilitation program on adherence to the mediterranean diet and physical activity in acute coronary syndrome
CONCLUSIONS: The CRP, in our hospital environment, has an effect of improving adherence to the mediterranean diet and physical exercise in patients with ACS. The change in adherence to the diet increases as the motivation to change the baseline increases, and age is inversely related to the change in adherence.PMID:38574393 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.23000219 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)
