I’m back from Victoria. This glamour traveling is quite tiring. The slight jet lag f.s me up. Not on the way       there but on the way back. I found lately that if I change times zones too quickly the succeeding changes after the first hit me harder and harder. Today I felt like I hit a brick wall. This morning feeling like a slug, I got up and got the dogs out.  My alarm clock didn’t have the right time on it so I didn’t know if it was 11:30 as it said or what time it was. Whatever it was it felt very early. As it turns out, it was 8:30, or 5:30 Pacific coast time. Immediately after getting the p...

Looking for AIDS Bottle participants. From 1990 to 1999  the Institute of Cultural Inquiry displayed hundreds of glass jars commemorating men, women and children who have died from HIV or AIDS complications.  These bottles were displayed across the United States in art and educational institutions  as a part of World AIDS Day and a Day Without Art.The bottles were made of clear glass and capped with metallic lids. The names of those commemorated were etched on the glass unless there was a simple bar to represent a death that escaped notice. Some bottles were filled with objects inspired by the biographies of those rememb...

The title's a takeoff on "Another one bites the dust". Since I got my old geezer/disabled discount T pass, I've been using mass transit a lot more. Thursday and Friday were whirlwind tours to the medical clinic and AIDS Service Organization. The problems with my legs and back are worsening, and it's affected my already non existent sex life. Since even masturbation offers no relief since somewhere along the spinal cable trunk the signals are not getting through. Some of it could also be my prostate, although every time the doc does a digital exam it feels normal and my PSA has always been well within normal range (but test...

Yesterday was another booth day. And to find some sort of excitment, we pulled out the Snuggies again. Prior to last years AGM of CHAC, the board of my co-op sent a letter expressing concern over the budget cuts to the diveristy committe, it’s terms of reference, and a few other things. They basically told us to piss off in nice words. Last year, never have I heard the word diversity more in my life. This year they made a diversity booth, and with it a box of custume-y things in it to wear and have your photo taking the “I heart Diverstiy” sign. Angelica & Christina browning the joint up a bit. Hard at work at our booth …… It was all about the Snuggie. It made security uptight and were on us any time we had the Snuggies on. The Empress must be latin for uptight. And with such daintiness I model the designer fashion Snuggie. Then it was time for whale watching, or as I later put it, more like escaping the whales. Unfortunatley there were none to be seen, however I did have these few cherished moments to share with you. And a short little movie:

This work shop enables the support group to work independently from home. Making leather shoes, jackets, purses, and wallets. Second, the support group is now enjoying bead work by using paper and or magazines. The support group can now make neclaces, bracellets, and earings. The work will hopefully help the support group earn an income. If you wish to see their projects go to www.mothersforall.org

Last night  I made way down to my meeting. The one you know that requires you to go up at least one flight of stairs, one step at a time. The theme for the night was the slogan “One day at a time.” It sounds so easy. My first recollection of this slogan was the 1970s sitcom  One Day at a Time. My mother, recently divorced with us two kids around that time thought the show was kind of about us. The tv mother and ours both sported the same kind of 70s mushroom haircut along with the same colour more or less. Then at the meeting I mused out loud, if that were to be the case then which on of the kids would I have ended u...

If you feel so inclined to order yourself up a pair, or other nifty 12-step things you can get them here. Warning: If I say anyone overly dressed in 12-step wares, the only direction I’ll be heading is down the stairs to get away. First draft on Pride and being sober done. Somehow I’ve managed to link sobriety with high definition porn. We’ll see if that makes it into print. You’ll have to read the final product to find out how I connect those dots.

I recorded this bit this morning. Turns out taking less Lithium requires some adjustment. This afternoon I spent two hours in bed. It is definitely a self-care day. Nonetheless, I did take a stab at my next piece for FAB, doing Pride sober. It’ll be total crap, but at least it feels like I’ve started. Technorati Tags: GLBT, Lithium, Fab Magazine

I’m surprised at how many do not know of Frances Farmer’s tale of whoa. Today I have to go to the doctors. I’m afraid I’m reliving my Sustiva lobotomizing days again, only not quite as bad. That’s most like due to the fact I’m not smoking pot. If that were the case, I’d be in serious trouble, and most likely appearing on a milk carton box near you. My depression is always a challenge to deal with. Lithium in non-therapeutic doses works to boost the efficacy of the antidepressant. All of these drugs is really a crap shoot in figuring out what works. I’m afraid I may have too m...

Today I road my bike. In my wallet is the card to open the garage door. When I cycle close to the card reader, I just have to wiggle my ass and the door happens. It’s just the kind of thing that gives me the jollies. Bell Canada cut my line off. It’s been nothing but problems. I had to wish my mother “Happy Mother’s Day” in the new technological way, an email. She can’t say I didn’t try.

Nata Village along with Sua Secondary School Health Club and Nata Primary School were able to draw and paint to Murals educating their community on staying health and knowing their status. Both Sua Secondary School and Nata Primary School worked hard putting this event together. The students hope the message will hit home with their Mural education. The students will continue to educate their community and travelers with more Murals on the A3 road that passes through their community.
