Nonetheless, here I am finding myself sipping tea with one hand, and touching myself with other as I figure out what to write.

In December 2006, the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act of 2006 (RWTMA) became law. The Act replaced the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act that had been initially signed into law in 1990, and subsequently “reauthorized” (renewed) in 1996 and 2000. The CARE Act was the country’s largest federally funded non-entitlement program for people living with HIV/AIDS and forms the core of the local HIV/AIDS care and treatment response in most local jurisdictions. This summer AAC’s Public Policy department held a series of town hall meetings in Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Gloucester, and Brockton to discuss the feasibility of implementing routine testing for HIV in medical settings, such as a doctor’s office.
The intent of the meetings was to solicit feedback from the HIV/AIDS community regarding recent changes to the Centers for Disease Control recommendations in favor of routine testing in these settings. According to the CDC, the changes in their recommendations, which are nonbinding, were made in an effort to decrease the number of people who do not know their HI...

Many of my French friends call Mylène Farmer “La Madonna française” or Madonna, “Le Mylène américaine.” I’m not sure they are completely comparable. However they’ve survived other the years producing pop music on a cyclic marketing strategy of controversy.
I’d say more thought goes into Mylène’s lyrics. The words all have double entendres where her songs often tell a different story than the surface upbeat melody. Take C’est une belle jounrée. This tune is about suicide. Or, Pourvu qu’elles soient douce, as my Brussels friends describes it, where Mylène “fait un appel à la sodomie.” I thin...

Hi, my name is Patti Walker and I am both a medical marijuana recommended patient as well as a former San Diego collective employee.
I was involved in the raids yesterday and my collective was hit pretty bad. I worked at Beneficial Care Collective in downtown San Diego at about 1:30 pm I walked into the office and heard pounding and saw police task force every where. I had no idea what was going on and then an officer pointed a shotgun at my face and told me to sit down, and there I sat.
Myself and everyone else who worked there was then handcuffed and put in a room, they told me it was just procedure and I wasn’t i...
