Abstract In this paper, an insect biofuel cell (BFC) using trehalose included in insect hemolymph was developed. The insect BFC is based on trehalase and glucose oxidase (GOD) reaction systems which oxidize β-glucose obtained by hydrolyzing trehalose. First, we confirmed by LC-MS that a sufficient amount of trehalose was present in the cockroach hemolymph (CHL). The maximum power density obtained using the insect BFC was 6.07 μW/cm(2). Conclusions: Simultaneous monitoring of ICP using two solid sensors may show marked differences in static ICP but close to identity in dynamic ICP waveforms. Conclusions: CA deformation was objectively proven as an important factor contributing to errors in maxillofacial navigation. Our study results suggest that small movements of the bones around CA can result in small CA deformations. Although patients' faces were not fixed properly during CT scanning, C1--C4 and vA--vE displacements were similar in individual patients. We proposed a novel method for accumulation of the displacement data, and this study indicated the importance of surrounding bone displacements in predicting CA bifurcation.

Orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) is a greedy search algorithm popularly being used for the recovery of compressive sensed sparse signals. In this correspondence, we show that if the isometry constant δK+1 of the sensing matrix Φ satisfies δK+1 <; 1/(1/√K+1) then the OMP algorithm can perfectly recover K-sparse signals from the compressed measurements y=Φx. Our bound offers a substantial improvement over the recent result of Davenport and Wakin and also closes gap between the recovery bound and fundamental limit over which the perfect recovery of the OMP cannot be guaranteed.

For compressive sensing of dynamic sparse signals, we develop an iterative pursuit algorithm. A dynamic sparse signal process is characterized by varying sparsity patterns over time/space. For such signals, the developed algorithm is able to incorporate sequential predictions, thereby providing better compressive sensing recovery performance, but not at the cost of high complexity. Through experimental evaluations, we observe that the new algorithm exhibits a graceful degradation at deteriorating signal conditions while capable of yielding substantial performance gains as conditions improve.
