Civil Infraction Marijuana Related, Licensing issues?
Hey SDN, Do you guys know if a civil infraction (non-traffic) open/consume marijuana in public will hurt my chances of getting my pharmacy license/intern license? I'm a first year pharmacy student in Washington State. Was never arrested, and it won't show up on my criminal record nor my driving record since it was non-traffic related. Am already knocking myself in the head for my stupidity, and will seek a lawyer. If you guys have any personal experience or tips, would be greatly appreciated. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

NY Medical Society Task Force Says US Grads 1st In NRMP Match!!!
Protect US Citizens and Legal Residents The central argument in Resolution 2015-115 for giving preference in the matching program to graduates of US medical and osteopathic schools is that residency training is currently funded in large part by taxpayers, and that this public good should not be denied to qualified taxpayers while others reap the benefit. After weighing the counter arguments very carefully, including respect for the exceptional quality so many international graduates bring... Any Premeds or Med Students living with Chronic Conditions or Diseases?
I know it's really personal but that's why majority are anon on here. It's not exactly my business, but I'm just curious how everyone has dealt with their health issues throughout their premed years and medical school. During undergrad and when completing your premed requirements, did you have any doubts that your illness or condition would affect your goals?Did you mention anything in your PS, or was it talked about in your interviews? Does it affect your daily living and do you find... Any Premeds or Med Students living with Chronic Conditions or Diseases? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Withdrawing from physics 2 for mental health issues?
Hi, everyone. I'm a non-traditional student (graduated college a few years ago) who is finishing my pre-med courses this semester. Well, I hoped that I was. I have a history of depression and anxiety, was hospitalized for suicidal ideation, am in outpatient treatment regularly, etc. Over the past two months, I have struggled with increased anxiety and depression. I have seen my psychiatrists for this, and they currently are tweaking my meds to help me get this under control. These past... Withdrawing from physics 2 for mental health issues? Do i really need to take statistics?
Hello, I recently decided that DVM was the right choice for me as opposed to MD. I see that a lot of the schools require statistics, nutrition, and public speaking. I took several english courses which we had to speak in class, I have presented at a conference and won an award for my prestentation. I took precalculus, calc 1, and calc 2. I didn't take anything similat to nutrition but I am a biology major so I have a lot of animal related courses. Should I not even try to apply to the... Do i really need to take statistics? Learning New Language in Medical School
Hey all. I am reflecting on my recent more realized desire to do global health work in the Middle East and I was wondering how doable you all think it is to learn a more complex foreign language (Arabic) during medical school? I am going for at least intermediate proficiency, though ideally more expert. I have already been accepted to a traditional medical school program (2 years pre-clinical, 2 years clinical) so it is better if I decide on my options sooner rather than later. USPHS as a PA
Hi everyone, I am currently an undergrad pre-PA student who is seriously considering the USPHS as a future career. I am fascinated by the dedication of the service to public health both domestically and abroad. I have looked at some of the "Best Kept Secrets" on the website, and have seen that PAs are categorized as Health Service Officers. Salary is not a big issue for me, but ideally I would like one in the range of 80-90k. I also do not mind having to relocate, and would definitely like... To be a Health Science vs Biology major....?
I just got accepted to CSUF for fall 2016 as a Biology major. I am not someone with a lot of time to just focus on school only. I have a 6 year old son & I work part-time to be able to go to school. I want to do Pharmacy school later down the road. Is biology a very tough major? Should I just do health science since pharmacy school doesn't require a bio bachelors? My counselor recommended I do health science AFTER I submitted my application for biology -_- I do love biology but if... To be a Health Science vs Biology major....? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
