Plan of action? Is this logical?
So, currently I am a 37yr old NP working fulltime for a Fortune 500 company running a Occ. Health Clinic at one of their Industrial sites. I get the privilege of working with two MD's one day a week and then handle all of the oddities that Occ. Health is known for.
I recently started Gen Chem 1 at a local CC because it was not offered at the local state University at a time I could attend. All I can do is hope that is enough and I'm not slammed too hard for taking some pre-reqs at a CC.
Quitting work is not a option because not only are we saving for med school it would be silly to quit just so I could take more class...

Help! I'm so discouraged:( low gre, not great gpa
Hi everybody:)
please give me your input, you can be brutally honest, its ok, I can take it!
I am a little bit ( ok, a lot of bit) concerned about getting accepted into the schools I applied too. I would like to know if I should A) retake the GRE, or B) apply to some other schools.
I have already applied to a ton, but sadly didnt make the prereqs for some and don't have enough time to get all of them done, so right now i am looking at about 18 schools...
my stats: dont laugh! :)
Major: health sciences
gre: verbal- 150, quant- 145, AW- 5/6
gpa: overall- 3.20, prereq- 3.22 (but still have some prereqs to take...and I...

Gift ideas...
[I couldn't think of where else to post this; so, since I am still pre-med, and a nontraditional one at that, I'm posting here]
As some of you already know, I am the director of a nonprofit health clinic. Our nurse manager/charge has accepted a different position in another city, and will be leaving us in a couple weeks. What gift(s) would be appropriate and amazing to show our appreciation for her?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Article: "Shadowing: Thinking outside the [clinical] box."
The interviewer solemnly looked down at the papers scattered before him. Interrupting his own seemingly deep thought, he quickly glanced up at the nervous applicant, "I see that you have 10 hours of formal physician shadowing." After taking in a breath that was perceivably deeper than before, he continued, "So, tell me, do you feel that was enough exposure? Are you confident that those 10 hours were representative of the profession, representative enough for you to validly spend the rest of your life on this journey through medicine? Did those 10 hours render the entire spectrum of medicine [from the highest...

"Why dentistry?" Question
Okay, so I decided to make a separate thread about this. I couldn't find a thread that really matched what I'm going for, so bear with me.
I'm always hearing that people should come up with good reasons to answer the question "Why dentistry?"/"Why not medicine?" but I really don't think that's the case. I honestly think that there's no real answer to "why dentistry" that cannot apply to some specialty in medicine as well.
What I mean is, other than the whole "I love teeth!" or "I don't want to have to do a residency" thing (obviously!), but who is really going to say tha...
