BS in Public Health, can I apply for a MS in biomedical science?
I'm interested in clinical research for pharmaceutical companies, not really sure what path I should take. I did not take Orgo II and got a D in Orgo I so I am afraid I won't get into MS programs when I apply.
Thank you for your help!

Trying to find answers to get my life back
I am a 54 female and have been sick and in hospital five times in last year. In May of 2012. I had an 80% blockage so had stent put in. I am a diabetic. I have bad RLS, High blood pressure that goes nuts, nutcracker esophageal spasms, loud noise in ears, some kind of seizures, my feet stay swollen, they found a tumor behind my stomach, I seem to hurt all over, chest pains. Last time in hospital they said i needed to go to University, said possible conversion disorder, I'm on 26 different meds. My doctor got sick while he was to set things up. I don't know what or where to go. It's takes everything in me to work and do what...

UCLA Fielding SPH - Fall 2013
I just got my acceptance email from CHS today. I am so excited! UCLA's my #1.
Anyone else out there ready to be a Bruin this fall?? What scholarships/fellowships have people gotten?
They offered me $10,000 University fellowship for the first year. The agreement says if I got a Graduate Researcher position it might affect the fellowship. Any thoughts on how to fill the gap then? Just loans?
I'm planning to go to the March 18 event, if I can get out of work. :naughty:

Humor: My Grad School Development Model
Hope you guys enjoy it!
My 5 stage model of Psychology Graduate Student Development
Stage 1 - The Honeymoon Period
This period is characterized by naive optimism. The fact that you got into grad school in psychology seems to have given you a sense of validation that you have longed for. You are also excited to be involved in work that makes a difference in people's lives. If only the kids who made fun of you in high school could see you now! The 60-70 hours of work you put in each week just makes you feel like an academic Chuck Norris. Whoa, you just wrote a 20 page paper for your ethics class. What a badass. You fight ...

Committee Letter
I'm basically one of those 8 year college kids. Transferred from university to CC back to University with way too many credits and mediocre grades (at the time I was stupid, immature, and had no idea where I was going).
I have a premed committee at my new school, the one I'm doing well in. I went and saw the counselor and I told him about how I was doing, and about the upward trend/ difference between my grades. For whatever reason he seemed hesitant and with doubts, started rambling about careers as becoming a Nurse and Physician Assistant. Not that those aren't great fields, as they play such important roles in health ...

Chronic pain, opiates, and working?
I have a unique situation being that I'm 28 years old and suffering from chronic pain. I have confirmed bulging discs in my neck with bone spurs, degenerative disc disease, torn right hip labrum, post-op for left hip labral tear, and hypermobility syndrome. If you've never torn your hip labrum, it can be incredibly painful and disabling. It has made me couch-bound for the past few years. I could barely walk around to even do the household chores :(
I've had two surgeries on my hips, and will be needing another one in a few months. I have been going through this for the past 4 years, so I'm hoping this is the last hip sur...
