Interprofessional Education
All: I am currently working on my Masters in Medical Sciences with a Pediatric Sports Medicine emphasis. This question has come up in one of my classes as the NATA continues to explore this idea. I just wanted to get your thoughts as well... Do your PT programs integrate classes with other health professions? With athletic training students? With physician assistant students? With nursing students? With medical students? ETC Is this beneficial? Is it harmful? What are your thoughts?

Finger Sprain
The 2 middle fingers on my right hand were sprained and swelling in the joints from some work I was doing. During the day they are pretty normal feeling. About 11 pm they start to get a little stiff and probably swelling a bit. Even more when I wake up in the mornings. After an hour it goes away though. Should I exercise the fingers or just let them rest or what?

Chances for Goucher and/or Hopkins?
Hey, I've applied for both programs and I'm unsure about my chances. I will be graduating UMBC this semester with a B.S. in Emergency Health Services with a focus in Paramedicine. UMBC GPA is 3.48 HS GPA of 2.9 SAT of 640/640/580 I'm an EMT and will be testing for my Paramedic license in a few months. I've run thousands of EMS calls and will have 600+ clinical hours by graduation. So my EC are good, just not sure how it will pan out. Can't wait to get the letters, whatever be their messages.

Child Social Work
Hi, I'm new to the master's degrees in social work, so excuse my blank state of knowledge. If one wanted to become a child social worker, that is work clinically strictly with children, what type of master's degree would one need to get? Is there a specific child social work degree? Or would you just need to get a MSW from a school which specializes in children? Or neither? I'm just guessing here. Appreciate any help! Again, excuse my complete and utter ignorance!

fell asleep now cant barely walk
I just turned 48 yrs old. I am a very active healthy 48 yr old female. I own a lawn service buisness so I am constantly lifting lawnmowers pulling weeds by hand on acres of land at a time, and so on... I have never had any back problems other than a slight soreness when bent over to long pulling weeds which dissappeares within minutes of me standing upright. Last week (7 or 8 days ago) I laid down for bed at nite and slept for 24 hrs getting up maybe twice to urinate. After 24 hrs of sleep I awoke and was fine for about 2 hrs then started to feel an ache in my center lower back. I figured it was from sleeping in one positi...

IVF clinic in Benenden
I believe to show audacious behavior to ask if anyone knows the state you are in and you want to know about their experience. Not a question can be answered by theoretical books. I am here to ask if anyone had experience of IVF or ICSI in UK or his or her friend had. My husband and I have been thinking to start a family since past two years. Before going for IVF treatment as suggested I want to know if anyone has success with IVF, I mean obviously a massive number of people had this process successfully but I want to the physical behavior your body attain during this process. Is there any difference with simple pregnancy...

Help! Facial Tension from chin injury?
Hi, I hope someone can help me. When i was 14 i grazed off half my chin (on the right side of my face) in a bmx accident. The doctor my mum took me to ended up giving me stitches, even though he expressed concern he didnt want me to have any side effects. So at first he didn't want to do stitches but for some reason he did. So i must have lost about 6cm sqared of skin/flesh, as the doctor had to pull the graze together to stitch it. I have since learned you are not supposed to stitch a graze, especially as i wasn't losing much blood. Now im 27 and have had this problem which has been driving me crazy. It feels like one ...

Upon accepting, what exactly happens to existing student loans?
I believe student loans (or at least loans above the college level) started to accumulate interest the moment I earned my MPH. This change is something new to 2012 I think, as this used to start 6-months after graduation. My question is, what happens to existing loan-debt after starting a PhD? Do the existing loans accumulate interest, or are they "frozen"? I believe they used to be frozen, but I'm not sure if anything else changed with the end of the 6-month grace period.
