Conclusions Recognition of the cutaneous eruptions associated with TMD in neonate patients with DS may lead to early diagnosis and avoidance of unnecessary chemotherapy. However, because leukemia may develop later, careful follow‐up is mandatory in all cases.

Conclusions Fas was expressed more strongly in well‐differentiated SCCs than in poorly differentiated tumors. FasL was expressed more strongly in moderately and poorly differentiated tumors. These findings indicate that Fas and FasL play important roles in immune surveillance and grade of differentiation in SCC.

Linear Atrophoderma of Moulin: A Distinct Entity?

Abstract
Linear atrophoderma of Moulin (LAM) is a rare dermatologic disorder characterized by a hyperpigmented atrophoderma that consistently follows the lines of Blaschko. There are many clinical and histologic similarities between LAM, atrophoderma of Pasini and Pierini (APP), and morphea, and whether LAM represents part of a disease spectrum or its own distinct entity is debated. This case of a 16‐year‐old boy with LAM supports the hypothesis that LAM, APP, and morphea are a spectrum of disorders rather than unique entities. Although the patient's overall clinical picture supports a diagnosis of LAM with hyperpigmen...

Abstract
Infantile hemangiomas (IHs) are the most common tumors of infancy. Imiquimod, an immune‐response modifier, has been proven effective and safe in the treatment of superficial and mixed hemangiomas, but severe local reactions caused by imiquimod have been reported sporadically. To evaluate the safety of imiquimod 5% cream and the sequelae of severe local inflammatory reactions in the treatment of superficial IHs we performed a retrospective chart review of all children with superficial IHs who received topical imiquimod treatment in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of Shanghai 9th People's Hosp...

We present a 4‐year‐old girl who presented at birth with cloacal atresia corrected surgically and resulting in chronic incontinence requiring full‐time diapers. She presented with crops of herpetiform vesicles and bullae on a base that ranged from normal skin to severe erythema and oedema. A histological examination revealed a well‐demarcated lesion showing a thickened epidermis with hyperkeratosis and parakeratosis, acanthosis and an abrupt transition to pallor of the upper half. Focal full thickness epidermis necrosis and small areas of spongiosis, acantholysis and apoptotic keratinocytes were seen. Immunofluores...

Abstract This paper reviews the role of stratum corneum (SC) proteases and their inhibitors in normal and xerotic skin conditions.
The importance of the corneodesmosome for SC integrity is also discussed, and the effect of proteases on its disassembly.
The relevance of each enzyme class is outlined, as well as their potential inhibitors. It is becoming much clearer, however,
that the LEKTI family of inhibitors are critical for SC enzyme control. Delayed desquamation is the accumulation of corneocytes
on the surface of the SC that leads ultimately to the cosmetic condition commonly termed as “dry skin”. T...

Trichoscopy (or dermoscopy of hair and scalp) is an easy in-office technique that may be performed with a handheld dermoscope or a digital videodermoscopy system. This method is gaining increasing popularity, because it may be applied in differential diagnosis of multiple hair and scalp diseases. The focus of this article is application of trichoscopy in differential diagnosis of the most frequent hair and scalp diseases in dermatologic practice. Trichoscopy of genetic hair shaft abnormalities are briefly addressed. A new classification of perifollicular and interfollicular skin surface abnormalities is proposed.

Abstract
Immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) is considered one of the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, comprising dermatomyositis, polymyositis, and inclusion body myositis. The heterogeneous group of necrotizing myopathies shows a varying amount of necrotic muscle fibers, myophagocytosis, and a sparse inflammatory infiltrate. The underlying immune response in necrotizing myopathy has not yet been addressed in detail. Affected muscle tissue, obtained from 16 patients with IMNM, was analyzed compared with eight non-IMNM (nIMNM) tissues. Inflammatory cells were characterized by IHC, and immune mediators we...

In conclusion, our data indicate that an accumulation of interstitial ATP does not occur during local heating and therefore does not have a role in temperature sensation or the dilator response in human skin. Nevertheless, the low threshold of dilation (35°C) indicates a possible role for the TRPV3, TRPV4 channels or the sensitization of other ion channels in mediating the dilator response.

Synopsis
Dandruff is a common complaint and is suffered by as much as half of the population at some time post puberty. The condition is characterized by the presence of flakes on the scalp and in the hair, and is often accompanied by itch. The most common treatment for dandruff is the use of shampoo formulations that contain fungistatic agents such as zinc pyrithione (ZPT) and octopirox. Whilst most antidandruff shampoos are effective in resolving the symptoms of dandruff these shampoos can often result in hair condition that is less than acceptable to consumers which can lead to a tendency for them to revert to use of a ...

Moreover, despite excellent results at each follow-up, the results of our series are not as good after 6 months, and a longer

Abstract
Female pattern hair loss (FPHL) or androgenic alopecia is the most common type of hair loss affecting women with reduced hair density and can have a serious psychological impact. It is characterized by progressive replacement of slow cycling terminal hair follicles by miniaturized, rapidly cycling vellus hair follicles. The frontal hair line may or may not be preserved. The aim of this review was to assess the evidence for the effectiveness and safety of the treatments available for FPHL. Conclusion: The similarity of the pattern of trends among age groups suggests external influences including SunSmart's program activity had a relatively similar impact across the population. Sun-related behaviours continue to be amenable to change. More recent relative stability with some declines in sun protection suggests further intensive campaigns and other strategies may be needed to maintain previous successes and achieve more universal use of sun protection.
