Morphometric study of microvessels, epidermal characteristics and inflammation in psoriasis vulgaris with their correlations
Conclusion: All microvessels and epidermal parameters showed positive correlation with dermal inflammation; and epidermal parameters exhibited positive correlation with micro-vascular dilation. It is likely that inflammation is a key factor in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.

Behcet's disease in India: A dermatological perspective
Conclusion: The disease occurs in a much milder form in India and is primarily mucocutaneous and arthritic. A high index of suspicion in patients with MC lesions may result in early diagnosis, management and prevention of complications of BD. We suggest colchicine as an effective and safe therapeutic option for MC and joint involvement.

Psychodermatology: A comprehensive review
We present here a comprehensive review of salient features and treatment updates in primary psychiatric dermatoses and have also discussed the role of psyche in psychophysiological cutaneous disorders. Secondary psychiatric morbidity is relatively common among patients visiting the dermatologists but often overlooked and uncared for. Dermatologist should be able to initiate basic pharmacotherapy, should be knowledgeable about various non-pharmacological treatments and know the right time to refer the patient to the psychiatrist. Awareness and pertinent treatment of psychodermatological disorders among dermatologists will l...

This is characterized by erythematous papulo vesicular eruptions over hand, feet, perioral area, knees, buttocks and also intraorally mostly in the children. HFMD has been known for its self limiting course. Only small scale outbreaks have been reported from United States, Europe, Australia, Japan and Brazil for the first fe...

Insect bite reactions are commonly seen in clinical practice. The present review touches upon the medically important insects and their places in the classification, the sparse literature on the epidemiology of insect bites in India, and different variables influencing the susceptibility of an individual to insect bites. Clinical features of mosquito bites, hypersensitivity to mosquito bites Epstein-Barr virus NK (HMB-EBV-NK) disease, eruptive pseudoangiom...

Post‐trauma growth in a mainland Chinese population with chronic skin disease
This study aimed to determine the underlying factor structure of the mainland Chinese version of the Post‐traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI‐MC) and the determinants of post‐trauma growth (PTG).
MethodsA total of 297 participants who had been treated for chronic skin diseases completed the PTGI‐MC and other self‐report inventories assessing resilience, optimism, hope, and self‐efficacy.
ResultsSimilarly to other populations which have experienced trauma and adversity, chronic skin disease patients also report PTG. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis showed a factor structure that differed...

Comorbidities, metabolic risk profile and health‐related quality of life in German patients with plaque‐type psoriasis: a cross‐sectional prospective study
Conclusions Our findings underscore the importance of cardiovascular and metabolic risk screening for all patients with psoriasis. There is still a need for systemic treatments and the definition of treatment goals for psoriasis as a systemic inflammatory disease. Such goals should integrate parameters that include comorbidities and an improvement in health‐related quality of life.

Patterns of skin metastases: a review of 25 years, experience at a single cancer center
Conclusions This is the largest review of skin metastases in the United States in the past 25 years. We found the primary cancers that metastasize to the skin have changed in frequency from previous studies. Our data are helpful in indicating which cancers have the strongest predilection for skin metastasis. Identification of these cancers can help both the clinician and patient detect early signs of metastases, which may allow for earlier diagnosis, implementation of therapy, and possible prolonged survival.

Comparison of clinical and cost‐effectiveness of psoralen + ultraviolet A versus psoralen + sunlight in the treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis in a developing economy
Abstract
Psoralen + ultraviolet A (PUVA) therapy is an established modality for psoriasis. As India is a tropical country that has good availability of natural sunlight psoralen + sunlight (PUVAsol) may be a more convenient option. To compare the efficacy and cost‐effectiveness of PUVA versus PUVAsol in chronic plaque psoriasis. Cases of chronic plaque psoriasis with body surface area ≥10% or Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) ≥10, excluding erythrodermic or pustular psoriasis, were randomized to receive either PUVA or PUVAsol, with endpoint being the achievement of PASI 90 or completion of 12 weeks t...

Dermatoscopy of nail lichen planus
Conclusion Considering that nail lichen planus is an underdiagnosed disease with severe consequences, early diagnosis is essential. Antimicrobial susceptibility and genetic characteristics of Propionibacterium acnes isolated from patients with acne
Conclusions Resistance to trimethoprim–sulfamethoxazole was the most common pattern found, and further studies are required to clarify its resistance mechanism. A certain tetracycline resistance was expected, but interestingly all strains remained sensitive. Resistance to erythromycin and clindamycin were influenced using topical formulations. Mutation A2059G was related to high resistance to erythromycin. Antibiotic resistance is increasing, and new strategies are needed.

Quality of life and comorbidity in localized malignant melanoma: results of a German population‐based cohort study
Conclusions Localized malignant melanoma does not worsen QoL per se, compared with QoL in the general population. Comorbidities have similar effects on QoL in malignant melanoma patients as they do in the general population. Therefore, cohorts of patients with localized malignant melanoma can represent a basis for comparisons with other cohorts of cancer patients to determine the respective impacts of cancer‐related and non‐cancer‐related factors on QoL.

Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans in Childhood Treated with Slow Mohs Micrographic Surgery
Abstract
Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) in childhood is a rare tumor with high recurrence rates. Wide local excision can result in disfiguring mutilation, whereas Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) reduces surgical margins. MMS in children is not performed routinely, as the required infrastructures such as a histopathology lab in close proximity to the operating room is often lacking. We retrospectively reviewed children diagnosed with DFSP treated at our hospital over 2 years. We recorded surgical treatment details, including margins, duration of inpatient stay, outcome, follow‐up, and molecular genetic tumor tiss...

Perforating Foreign Body Reaction to Unheated Liquid Contents of Lava Lamp
Abstract
A 21‐month‐old girl developed a local skin reaction after the unheated liquid contents of a broken lava lamp were in contact with her skin overnight. Several weeks later, small umbilicated erythematous papules containing central keratotic spines developed within the affected areas. Biopsy showed a granulomatous foreign body reaction with focal transepidermal elimination. Electron microscopy and energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy analysis of the tissue revealed carbon‐based material, consistent with substances reported to be present in lava lamp liquid.

Neonatal Lupus Syndrome Associated with Ribonucleoprotein Antibodies
We report a case of NLE occurring solely due to RNP antibodies presenting as varicelliform lesions at birth. We recorded the features in our case and 14 additional cases identified in the literature. It is important to recognize that maternal transfer of RNP antibodies may produce the classic cutaneous features of neonatal lupus. The limited case reports of this condition suggest that manifestations are limited to the skin; specifically, there are no reports of cardiac involvement. The long‐term outcome remains unknown. RNP‐positive, Ro/La‐negative NLE seems to represent a different clinical subset of NLE. The recogn...
