We describe a family with AHO and hormone resistance (PHP type Ia) resulting from a rare mutation in GNAS1. The proband presented with small subcutaneous calcifications in the helix of the right ear and concentrated in a sharply demarcated zone of subcutaneous and dermal hypoplasia. This abnormality has so far not been described in patients with AHO. We speculate on the mechanism of dermal hypoplasia and resistance to PTH and suggest that subcutanous or dermal hypoplasia might be another feature which can be present in patients with AHO.

Conclusions The modified CDASI is perfectly correlated with the original CDASI. It has equally good concurrent validity with the PGM-overall skin and PGM-activity scales. The CDASI subscores have equally good concurrent validity with the PGM-activity and PGM-damage scales. We suggest that PGMs of skin disease activity and damage should be assessed separately for greater specificity. The modified CDASI is a refined and equally as useful outcome measure.

Conclusions i.d. injections of rR9-containing immunogenic Ag without adjuvants simultaneously induce dual immunological effects: the induction of Tc1- and Th1-dominant immune responses, and the induction of inflammatory and CTL-mediated immune responses at the injection area by expressing Ag epitopes on MHC class I molecules as targets. This simple vaccination approach with R9-PTD-containing fusion proteins might be useful as prophylactic immunotherapy for cancer or infectious diseases.

Conclusions The same degree of sensitization was induced by three exposures to DNCB 10 [mu]g cm[minus]2 as by one exposure to 60 [mu]g cm[minus]2 of DNCB. Thus repeated exposure to low doses of contact sensitizers may increase the sensitizing potency. This must be taken into account in future risk assessments.

The family of human papilloma viruses (HPV) comprises more than 100 genotypes. Approximately 30 of the genotypes are responsible for infections in the human anogenital area. A precisely defined algorithm with the goal of diagnosing and removing HPV for a prolonged or indefinite length of time, as well as to protect the patient from any malignant ransformation, does not currently exist. The identification of HPV strains by PCR or DNA hybridization in lesional tissue provides higher security for the patients. In high-risk patients additional colposcopy, rectoscopy, and rethroscopy/cystoscopy increase the probability of prope...
