CONCLUSIONS:  Data were retrievable and the building of a data warehouse was possible and lessons were learned.IMPLICATIONS:  When clinical information systems (CISs) are developed, developers and nurses must discuss how standardized data will be entered to ensure retrieval and usefulness in evaluating nursing care. For nursing effectiveness research, CISs must also provide linkages among nursing diagnoses and specific interventions, and nursing‐sensitive patient outcomes.
CONCLUSION.  The low levels of accuracy detected in some diagnoses highlight the need for nurses to develop skills in accurately applying the diagnostic process involving the use of NDs. However, in order to confirm (or not) the observed low levels of diagnostic accuracy, studies with larger sample sizes should be carried out. This is essential as it is recommended that care processes be supported by knowledge about accuracy.IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING PRACTICE.  Educational interventions should be implemented that hone the ability to make accurate NDs in clinical nursing practice. Further studies are also needed to evaluate the accuracy of NDs elaborated by nurses in different clinical contexts.OBJETIVO.  Verificar o grau de acurácia dos diagnósticos de enfermagem (DE) prevalentes em...

CONCLUSIONS:  Many new mothers, especially teens, are poorly informed regarding normal newborn care and safety upon hospital discharge. For this reason, teen mothers should be referred for nursing assessments in the home environment after discharge.IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING:  This case demonstrates the need for education of all parents prior to hospital discharge and supports the need for home‐based evaluations to ensure the safety of the infant. This case also supports the use of standardized nursing language to document the care provided. (Source: International Journal of Nursing Terminologies and Classifications)

CONCLUSIONS. Because the specific types of critical thinking needed for accurate diagnosing are not known, nurses should develop all 17 of the cognitive skills and habits of mind so these thinking abilities are available when needed.PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS. The 17 critical thinking concepts should be combined with domain knowledge, e.g., nursing diagnoses, to think about thinking, which will improve critical thinking processes.
CONCLUSION. The investment in extra time, care, and effort sometimes required for the full development of a treatment plan for teenagers who live where they are at high risk for violence and other consequences of stressful environments is a worthwhile one, even if results may require contact over an extended time period.PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS. Nurses of all specialty backgrounds need to be concerned with the progress of their patients. Sometimes nurses can best serve their patients by stepping away from the physiological event and focusing instead on responses in the domain of coping and stress tolerance as the root of difficulties.
CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE. These findings suggest that the ability to use the NANDA-I Taxonomy accurately is acquired over time. Thus, the theory and practice of using nursing process should be introduced in a formal course during the first year of baccalaureate nursing education and should be reinforced throughout the remaining courses. Students can then progressively improve their knowledge, critical thinking abilities, and use of the NANDA-I Taxonomy during their second and third years of study. Teaching strategies to reinforce students' learning are recommended. OBIETTIVI.
