            <title>Exhibition to mark 100 years of RSM sections</title>

            <description>To mark the opening of the Heritage Centre, a small exhibition has been mounted on the second floor of the library. Among the items on show are correspondence and documentation regarding the proposed amalgamation of medical societies which, in 1907, brought into being the Royal Society of Medicine and its first Sections. Other items include letters concerning the inclusion of women doctors among the Society’s membership, photographs and documents illustrating the Society in 1907, documents from 1907 concerning staff salaries and recruitment, reports from the Lancet and the British Medical Journal on the proposed union of the various medical societies and photographs of early members of the Society and its forerunners.
