Low weight and watching television for more than two hours per day were strongly associated with physical inactivity among adolescent girls.

CONCLUSIONS: Mental and psychomotor development were in the the normal range, but, below the expected for infants of the same age group of reference populations in developed countries. The factors associated with poor developmental indexes in this population are related to biological factors, with emphasis on nutritional deficits. Their reduction should be a priority for health and educational policy managers.

CONCLUSIONS: Prematurity can lead to structural and anatomical changes of the brain due to interruption of the prenatal development. These changes can cause functional deficits and children born prematurely are more vulnerable to cognitive and motor problems as well as its effects on their daily activities, even in adolescence and adulthood.
CONCLUSIONS: The number of academic studies produced does not match the importance of the theme for children's health. The academic production on breastfeeding is concentrated in the Southeast, the region with the largest number of programs. In terms of methodology, there was a predominance of quantitative studies, which shows a concern for the biological dimension of breastfeeding.

CONCLUSIONS: Mosquitoes are vectors of a variety of infectious and parasitic diseases which annually affect millions of people and cause thousands of deaths worldwide. The combat to mosquitoes includes individual and environmental measures. Topic repellents for children's individual protection demand specific handling attention and knowledge about the ideal product for each age, especially regarding their efficacy and safety.
CONCLUSIONS: A high incidence of postural alterations was detected in school children. Some of the postural alterations, such as abducted scapula, unbalance and protraction of the shoulders, knock-knee and lumbar hiperlordosis, normally occur and they are naturally corrected during growth. However, some postural problems, such as protraction and inclination of the cervical spine, were also prevalent and they require early intervention.
