At the time, he was 54 years old and so he subsequently filed a complaint with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which recently filed a lawsuit against the drugmaker. The complaint charges Abbott with “unfairly disciplining” Ziegler and “failing to properly acknowledge his successful sales performance.” And the drugmaker, the lawsuit goes on to claim, ultimately replaced Ziegler “with a less-experienced, less-educated, but much younger (then 34) sales representative who was not subjected to the same discipline and lack of acknowledgement as Ziegler.” We will update you with any reply from Abbott. One of the former reps, Karen Kirkpatrick, who was first hired by Parke-Davis in 1989 and was 55 when she was fired early last year, wants to depose several doctors and nurses to prove she didn’t falsify sampling records by altering dates, according to court documents.
