“The show features women in charge of their bodies, their creativity, and their self-expression,” said Our Bodies Ourselves board member and cabaret producer, Nancy Allen, “but it is primarily about having a great time and celebrating a milestone in women’s health history. This cabaret show is not just a fundraiser for a good cause, but also a fun and entertaining evening out for anyone who loves women.”
Cabaret acts include acrobatics, belly dance, burlesque, live music, hula hooping, tap dance, poetry, and comedy. Local comedian Robin Maxfield ...

In 2009, Our Bodies Ourselves (OBOS) launched its first-ever Women’s Health Heroes Awards to honor women and men who have made championing women’s health their life’s work. Since then, 40 individuals and groups have been inducted into OBOS’s Women’s Health Hall of Fame, selected from hundreds of nominations.
This year is a special year for OBOS; 2011 marks 40 years of activism in the United States and the evolution of OBOS into a vibrant international network of social change activists. Our network partners in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Europe bring health resources based on “Our Bodies, Ourselves” to their communities and fearlessly advance the health and human rights of women and girls in their countries.
Today, I started thinking about who we were as infants and the impact of time and life on our well-being. It’s the layers of criticisms, lessons, memories (good and bad) that start weighing on us. Like a perfect stone weighed down with years of sediment or a beautiful painting undiscovered because it is covered in dust.
Maybe our purpose in life is to take a duster and remove all those layers (shame, insecurities, etc.) that appear to be us, but in reality are other people’s stuff. Maybe we are supposed to find exactly who we are by getting back to who we were before disappointments, fear and judgments impacted us. What do you think? I think it’s something worth pondering this week.
Speaking of which, here is another fine, round-up of best blogs to peruse-starting with a ...

A couple of years ago my dad helped me track down my official discharge records. We always knew I was diagnosed in April, but now I have the actual date.
April 26, 1980 I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
It is a date that I mark with tremendous gratitude. Two generations ago I would not be here today.
It is a date where I mentally recognize all of the hard work, determined effort, humble appreciation, and downright stubbornness that I put forth to live with this disease.
All of you in the Diabetes Online Community are a huge part of what keeps me going.
Thank you!
31 Year Diabetes Anniversary is a post from: Scott's Diabetes (Source: Scott's Diabetes Blog)

Now we’re turning attention to the cover — a new design that will feature about three dozen or so OBOS readers. We’re thrilled about the opportunity to include girls and women for whom OBOS has made a difference.
The catch is we’ve got a very short time frame to pull this together. If you’re interested in submitting your photo, please complete this form and send it in with your headshot as soon as possible. Photos must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (EST) Friday, April 22. We’ll notify participants who have been selected by April 30.

Wow, it has been two months since I posted on this blog. Not much new in the Alzheimer's world as far as cures or new effective treatments. Of course the National Alzheimer's project passed, if you are suffering with AD or are a caregiver, this really does not change much in your life on a day to day basis. Perhaps our children or our children's children will not have to be stricken with AD.24 years ago today, March 6, 1987, my mother died from Alzheimer's disease. Her children were at her bedside as she took her last breath. It was five days before her seventieth birthday. I was 25 years old and a third year medical student. She had been diagnosed 9 years before she died and went through all the classic stages of AD. By the time she died it had been so long, since I had known he...

So this is the 20th anniversary since Congress first established Mental Health Awareness Week as the first week in October.
The effort to increase awareness about mental health is based in the history of numerous government reports and well-meaning workgroups and such that have found that stigma still exists surrounding the diagnosis of mental disorders. Surprise, surprise. Of course it still exists. People who’ve never encountered someone living with a mental illness still believe it’s the kind of thing that “happens to other people.”
But it happens to a lot more “other people” than anyone realizes. In our lifetime, 1 in 5 Americans will have a diagnosable mental disorder. And the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention just announced last week that ...

Well it is back to school time. N Minnesota saw a really hot summer. On the Western Terminus of Lake Superior it gets hot a few times every summer, up around 90 degrees. But it only lasts a few days here and there. This summer it was hot in the 80's for days on end, sometimes for weeks at a time. By American standards that is not really much, considering how warm it gets in other parts of the country. Right after labor day, it was like instant fall. Now it gets cold for the next 10 months. The temperature correlates with peoples attitudes. I mean the cold grates on you, I don't know how Canadians do it. Yes you can always wear three coats, bu t it still wears you out spiritually. Most people that live in the cold, pretend it does not bother them, or they are not even aware how it affects t...

Diaversaries are a strange phenomenon. We 'celebrate' another year living with diabetes. Another year of: blood glucose testing (maybe 1,800 finger sticks); Dexcom sensors (40+); pump infusion sets (105+). Of highs and lows that are too many to count. But also a year of triumphs (a new job; a vacation in Ireland; camping with the kids; lots of swimming; laughing).Today, September 10th, it's been thirty-eight years since I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. (It was around noon-time in an Irish hospital, where I'd been sent because of classic symptoms of diabetes: excessive thirst; weight loss; fatigue; hunger and others.)1972? Remember it? In September 1972: M*A*S*H first appeared on TV; President Nixon (yes, a Republican president) signed the WIC Program into law; and Mark Spitz won a...

The weekend’s so close, we can smell it. Here’s what we’re itching to do as soon as we lock our office doors behind us. Happy Saturday and Sunday!
Bake
If you can’t make it to the Babycakes bakery in LA or NY, we suggest trying the recipe for vegan, gluten-free brownies from their cookbook.

Borrow From Jamie Eason
You might want to steal her great body, but try borrowing this tip from fitness model Jamie Eason: Download the AroundMe app to stay fit on the road.

Steal
We don’t normally condone stealing, but EBOOST’s offer of 25% off their pink lemonade drink mix is a good one, and what’s even better is that they’ll donate $10 to the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research.

I began this blog three years ago with a post entitled “First Cut (I mean draft).” I now have well over 1,000 posts (cuts which I hope haven’t been torture to endure) and many new friends. I have been interviewed because of my blog for both the medical and quilting components. I’ve even been interviewed by Dr. Anonymous. I have been included among the Better Health bloggers and gone to Las Vegas where I meet many of you in person. Thank you all for including me in the blogging community. (Source: Suture for a Living)

Happy birthday in advance to the pill! (It turns 50 this weekend.) Not only did the birth control pill revolutionize women’s sexuality, but it also meant major changes for F.D.A.’s regulation practices, according to today’s New York Times.

Poll of the Day: Have You Ever Been on the Pill?

The pill is celebrating its 50th anniversary next month! The first oral contraceptive was approved by the FDA on May 9, 1960, and the Pill’s development was named by The Economist as the greatest scientific development of the 20th century. Last week’s TIME Magazine cover story, “The Pill at 50: Sex, Freedom, and Paradox” was entirely devoted to the pros, cons, and controversies of the baby blockers.
Despite its checkered past, today the Pill is almost like a multivitamin; and it’s the number one birth control method for women in the U.S.
We did a quick office poll, and most women here have tried the Pill or are currently on it, but opinions vary wildly on whether they love it or hate it. Some have experienced horrible side effects and opted for a different met...

A while back I attended my uncle's 50th birthday celebration. It was a big deal. The party was held at a big banquette hall at a local golf club, and there were TONS of people there. Many, many family members, as well as friends and colleagues from all over. This was about eight years ago, if I've got the math right, so I only have bits of memories from it. But I remember special made coffee mugs for everyone who wanted one, and some sort of slide show, and lots and lots of people all having a great time. It was probably the biggest birthday party I have ever been to. Big, fun, well planned, lots of guests. That's what I wanted for today. But then reality (aka time, energy, money) set in, and I knew we couldn't pull it off. Today is my 30 year anniv...

Earth Week Extreme: Please Pick Up That Trash – ON MOUNT EVEREST

Sheesh. We thought we were being all eco-sensitive on Earth Day by bringing a reusable coffee holder to work, drinking tap water, and taking out the recycling. But check out how these rock star mountaineers spent their Earth Week: According to Reuters, 20 Nepali alpinists scaled Mount Everest a whopping 26,246 feet to an area called the “dead zone”, because it’s freezing, icy, and scary. Oh, and there’s no f.ing oxygen. The point of Extreme Everest Expedition 2010 is to clean up trash and detritus that past climbers have left behind. (In some cases, actual climbers have been left behind, which makes the whole process even more challenging.) All kinds of junk including oxygen tanks, backpacks, equipment, and food storage containers litter the glacier – some of it d...

If you’ve ever yearned for a yurt, The New York Times just published a piece about a woman in New York state who lives in one with her three-year-old daughter. Sure, it looks cool and sophisticated, has a woodstove, and sits on 18 acres of land surrounded by waterfalls and conifers, but hell, it’s still a yurt. Because it’s Earth Day, Blisstree wants to know: How far would you go, how much would you change in order to cut down on consumerism, simplify your life, and get back to nature? If you’re more “weekend camping trip with cocktails” than you are “sell your belongings and live in a cabin with no running water or electricity” (or anything in between), we want to know. Get share-y and earthy with us in the comments section, below.

You say you’re an environmentalist. You use cloth bags when grocery shopping; your house is fitted with CFL light bulbs; and you drive a hybrid. (Hopefully not a Prius, though.)
But if you really want to get your hands dirty for the sake of saving the planet, here are 10 ways you can use Earth Week as an excuse to get active in your community.
If none of these opportunities are near where you live, check out Serve.org or Volunteermatch.org to find a worthy cause nearby.

You can teach Girl Scouts (grades two through six) how to lead greener lives, and help inspire the next generation to be as committed to saving the environment as you are.

5% of proceeds from these special edition KOR ONE hydration vessels are donated to charities supporting water causes
KOR ONE Hydration Vessels
Earth Week has us thinking green, and these KOR ONE hydration vessels (we like to call them water bottles) are one of the most eco-friendly ways we’ve seen to stay hydrated. They hold up to 750 mL (25 ounces), and are made from BPA-free Tritan – a material that doesn’t retain flavor or give your water a metallic or plastic-y aftertaste. The wide openings are big enough to fit ice cubes, and the hinged cap has a separate place where you can insert “KOR stones” – small inspirational notes.
But we really love KOR because they give back a portion of their proceeds to envir...

If you’re not already reconsidering your waste habits for Earth Week, this may make you rethink your plastic bag, soda bottle, or styrofoam cup:

I keep listening to this song which takes me back to when I was in Paris having one of those moments where I thought to myself, “Take this in man, cause it’s one of those special moments when things just couldn’t be more special and perfect.”
The reason to why I’m doing this is not exactly to relive past moments. Presently I feel as if life is taking some interesting and exciting directions. So much so that these days have been about ten years in the making.
I kid you not.
The more I put myself out there on the path that is truest to me, the more people and opportunities come into my life. It’s been happening more and more.
On April 21st, I will arrive at my third anniversary from my slip in Mexico that lead to my crowning of “Miss Don Woods 2007,” the CAMH GLBT rehab progr...

By David BoazI have some thoughts on Obama after one year at npr.org:
Happy anniversary, Mr. President. Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts is a rude ending to a year marked by falling poll ratings and growing opposition to his signature policy initiatives….
President Obama has several models to choose from: He could reverse his tax-spend-and-regulate policies and hope for the same economic and political results that Reagan achieved. He could, like Bill Clinton, recognize the political obstacles to his sweeping ambitions and learn to work with Republicans on modest reforms. He may well end up like Lyndon Johnson, with an ambitious domestic agenda eventually bogged down by endless war. But I don’t think his wished-for FDR model — a transformative agenda that is both p...

Well, we’re about to say goodbye to another year (and some would say, another decade). But I see the end of the year not so much about saying goodbye, but rather about saying hello to a new year and the opportunities it presents us.
Not to say it’s been a bad year for us here. Although Psych Central remains a small, independent company, 2009 has been our best year on record. We’ll be focused on significantly topping that in 2010. That’s what we like to do around here — continually challenge ourselves to ensure we’re publishing the highest quality, interesting and even sometimes-entertaining articles on mental health and psychology. And I have some exciting news I hope to share with you next week about something that I hope will help touch and change the...

Today marks the eighth anniversary of the U.S. war in Afghanistan. Cato foreign policy experts have been following and analyzing the war since the beginning. Here’s a round up of their assessment thus far:

Why we must narrow objectives in Afghanistan. Before implementing a new strategy, we must first define victory.

Why the Afghanistan strategy does not require more troops.

Once we have defined our objectives, we need to follow an exit strategy.

Why Pakistan also plays a crucial role in this effort.

In today’s podcast, foreign policy analyst Malou Innocent discusses the future of policy in the region. (Source: Cato-at-liberty)

China’s rise from an isolated state-controlled economy in 1949 to the world’s third largest economy with a vibrant nonstate sector is something to celebrate on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Under Deng Xiaoping, China’s transition from plan to market began in earnest in December 1978. For more than 30 years now, China has gradually removed barriers to a market system and increased opportunities for voluntary exchanges. Special economic zones, the end of communal farming, the rise of township and village enterprises, and the massive increase in foreign trade have enabled millions of people to lift themselves out of abject poverty.
Economic freedom has increased personal freedom, but the Chinese Communist Party has no intention of giving up it...

Elemental Discoveries, the precursor to this blog, existed in various forms on the AFN, the Tallahassee Freenet and enterprise.net from Spring 1996. But, today (July 20) is the official tenth anniversary of when I registered the sciencebase.com domain. At that point I started to get serious about building up a science portal (as they were then known) and publishing regular science news, views, and interviews in a precursor to the blogging format. Quite by chance it’s also the fortieth anniversary of a slightly more globally significant event – the first manned moon landing…
Anyway, in celebration of my small achievement as opposed to a giant leap, I was going to pick a few items from the archives to try and show just how diverse is Sciencebase coverage, but I suspect, eve...

Seven years ago! Time flies.
I remember one of the very first gifts I gave her was a drawing I made of a rose (I had carefully torn it from my sketch pad).
Later, a 2-year old Lexi found the little rose drawing and ripped it up! She LOVED shredding things back then. Shawntel felt horrible, but I had no hard feelings. After all, Lexi was only 2.
In honor of my wife here is a rose, also drawn by me, that can NOT be torn apart:

That’s a fresh drawing, since I drew it today. Literally, just minutes ago. You inspired me enough to do just want to do it out of thin air. I was just going to come online and WRITE about our 7 year anniversary.

I guess it was a few weeks ago that I realized that my 8th anniversary of diagnosis with multiple sclerosis had passed unnoticed. A combination of thoughts/emotions passed through my head.
I was happy that I didn’t think about it as the day approached (kind of like you feel once you don’t know the anniversary of a divorce is looming). I’ll admit a little discomfort that MS has become so much a part of who I am that the date passes without even an unconscious recognition.
It also marked the first year, since 2006 when we began Life with MS Blog, that I hadn’t written a post about my diagnosis.
Last year, my anniversary blog ended up being a trilogy of pieces chronicling the whole ordeal…and you seemed to like it. Maybe it was because I opened up more than I had before. Pos...

If you want background info, including causes and the wider political context, check Wikipedia.
You can also see stirring videos on Youtube.
There are incredible photos on Flickr.
And of course Twitter has a wealth of real-time information and thinking about the anniversary. Just search using the hash tag #Tiananmen.
But for those 1.5 billion people trapped behind the Great Firewall of China, absolutely none of those links are accessible. To mark the event that the government assures never happened, the Chinese government has blocked most social networking sites.

I examine them closely, just like my homegrown judges did. Save me from visual acuity! They are all small, deliberately, as there is only so much clay and time that I can afford to throw away. This is the only one I like. All were thrown at the same time with the same clay. Fired in the kiln at the same time.
It's our blogiversary, if that's a word, and we've timed 3 years to coincide with 1000 posts. Well, sort of, Roy pointed out that we have a few unposted things in "drafts," but blogger says this is 1000, so I'm happy with that. I'm pretty happy that our little project has lasted so long, has grown to include 50 podcast episodes with more to come, and our book contract is signed, and that we're all still friends. To three more years of things to think about....Thanks for reading Shrink Rap!From Roy: Thank you to my blogmates for keeping things fun and interesting. And to all our readers and commenters (and listeners) for your interest and participation. Y'all rock! From Clink: My blogmates are wonderful, our readers are wonderful, life is good. I'm trying to post more often, I really am.Links...

This week's Medical Grand Rounds is over at Amy Tenderich's Diabetes Mine. She is calling this the Birthday Edition, I think because today is her own birthday (Happy Birthday, Amy!). But still, this is quite a coincidence since today is also Shrink Rap's birthday -- 3 years old today (see Dinah's post coming out at noon).Amy notes some other birthdays today or this week -- Alison Finney from Shoot Up or Put Up; Chris Nickson from Life in the Fast Lane; Health Business Blog (Happy 4th!); and the Queen of England (and others).-----

My appointment with my endocrinologist went well, and I felt satisfied with the amount of time she spent with me (about ten minutes). She answered all of my questions and was positive despite a less than ideal status report. Frustrated, I listened as she reported that my A1C was 8.0. I was more than surprised. I was shocked. I thought for sure my A1C would be in the 6's, having... (Source: Diabetes Daily)

Today is the day that marks the 2nd aniversary of our move to San Francisco. It was on this day 2 years ago that we packed up the car, drove up here, moved into corporate housing and said wtf have we just done?
After our moment of panic, we walked across the big scary San Francisco street to the big scary San Francisco market and got ourselves some groceries. Let me tell you, that Safeway market may have looked unassuming and oddly identical to every market in LA, but it was all new to us. We were foreign and didn’t know the language. (Is it ok to ask for plastic or is that bad here? Do people not buy a whole lot at one time or is that considered stupid? What are the rules!!!)
I remember it so well. We bought a chicken. (those already made ones), some salad fixings and ...

As many of you know, the “Life with MS” blog is a place for everything and everyone with, around, about, for and against multiple sclerosis. Thrice weekly (well, for the most part…) I take up the responsibility you have bestowed me with the most precious vote you have; your time.
Over nearly three years (our blog’s anniversary is next month) we have, together, covered much about multiple sclerosis; and some having very little to do with our disease at all.  Today is another one of those…
I wept on Saturday.
I will admit that my MS has brought me to tears from time to time over the past eight plus years I’ve lived with it.  These tears, however, were something different and were not at all unwelcome.  They do, as I think about it, have some ref...

I’m feeling a little sad. Not for me personally, I just watched the last fifteen minutes of America’s Next Top Model. There’s nothing like Tyra breaking the bad news to bring a tear in the eye.
Today marks my 1.5 day. That’s my own sort of anniversary of a year and a half of no drugs or alcohol. Last night I celebrated it by having an ice cream cone from Basket & Robins on Church St. and shopping at Rabba after 11pm. I know its pretty wild and crazy.
Seven years ago today, we awakened from a fitful night's sleep in one of Rochester, Minnesota's small hotels, very retro in that it hadn't been updated in many years. Our alarm was set early so Keith could be at the surgical center prepped for his surgery well before the procedure was to begin. I don't remember a lot about that day. I'm the queen at forgetting things I don't want to remember. There are many flashes of the day that I do remember, however. I remember the threatening weather. Terrible lightening as we crossed the street from the hotel to the hospital, holding hands and trying to joke about what would happen if they lost power in the middle of surgery. Trying not to think about the fact that there was a 50% chance he might not live through it. I remember how very dark it was t...

19 years ago I married the love of my life. We've been together much longer than that, though, since I was a sophomore in high school 26 years ago.She was a senior cheerleader at another school, I was a skinny punk who drove a 10 year old station wagon and worked as a fry cook at Grandy's, but I had big dreams. I met her the very first weekend I had a license to drive, at the age of fifteen. We met at a McDonald's, believe it or not. I eventually followed her to college, and she hasn't been able to get rid of me ever since the first night we met.Happy anniversary, sweetie. (Source: Scalpel or Sword?)

My MS diagnosis story - part one

As I sit at my desk, prepared to tell this story, I’ve pressed myself a second cup of coffee. As I lean back and look at the blank screen, I wish there were something a little stronger in the cup. This past Friday was the anniversary of my MS diagnosis.
We’ve coursed through an awful lot of topics about multiple sclerosis here in these blog posts of Life with MS, however, this is the first time I have talked in detail about that day (or that week, really). I wrote about my five-year anniversary in the first month or so of this blog but it was more of a reflection than a recollection.
This morning, with unfortified coffee at the ready, I begin recall that week…
Monday morning, the 23rd of April, 2001 began in the dark. I was in rural western New York for the weekend and had an early, ...

Can you believe it? Two years ago, today, I jotted a few words which turned out to be prophetic. My first blog entry at HealthTalk, Life with MS (way back when I didn’t even know what a “blog” was!!!) was entitled, “It’s all about you – really” and it really has been all about you, well I suppose all about US!
I am astounded at the response to our little idea. I shouldn’t really take credit, it was actually a wonderful woman, Rose, at HealthTalk who had the idea and asked me to write. At that time we had but three bloggers at HealthTalk, now we are 22 plus faces on our blogosphere as well as art and audio blogs and we’re adding more writers soon (and I’ll bring that topic back next week…).
I cannot travel within the MS community without someone asking me about the blo...

A year ago today, I started this new life.My husband and I had fought, and he'd left to go to his parents' house. I was very upset, very confused about what was wrong. We'd been married less than a year, and we'd recently moved into a new and exciting home. He'd gotten a new job that was going to pay much better, and we had lots of great things on our horizon. But something was wrong. He was temperamental, angry, exhausted, and he had all kinds of health problems all of a sudden...strange things. Skin issues, stomach issues, sleep issues...everything seemed broken and wrong, and I was scared. I was scared that he didn't love me anymore. I was scared that we'd made a horrible mistake by buying a house. I was afraid that he was depressed. I was afraid that I wasn't good enough, that something...

Filed under: Type 1, Childhood, Research, Fundraisers, Opinion, Blogs, Allie Beatty, Support, PersonalitiesIn two weeks, Bernard Farrell will be riding in the Bike the Miles annual fundraiser to support Dr. Faustman's research to cure Type 1 diabetes. His participation is especially intrinsic because it is one day away from his 35th anniversary of becoming a Type 1 diabetic.
Bernard plans to raise $10,000 for Dr. Faustman's research. Last year he raised $7,500. The entire event raised a whopping $301,000! All of this funding is going toward the human trials to cure Type 1 diabetes. After discovering that the insulin-producing islet cells of the pancreas are capable of regeneration, Dr. Faustman now needs to test her treatment, already known to be safe in humans, to see if the effects are a...

Today marked an anniversary of sorts for me. If you visit the Children with Diabetes' "Quilt for Life" website and look at my quilt square (#464), according to my mother's records, July 24, 1976 was the day I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Truthfully, I wouldn't have even remembered it if I hadn't read Joanna's posting on the TuDiabetes website where she noted that Monday was her own 31st anniversary. As I noted last year (see here for details), this is not a date that stands out in my memory, nor do I wear it as a badge of honor. No, I did not mark this anniversary with any particular celebration. For this reason, I am disregarding all of the reports of sodas being toxic, but did want to mark the occasion with a can of Tab to mark the occasion, but although the original, aluminum-tasti...

Filed under: Breast Cancer, Cancer SurvivorsSomehow, it's been one whole year since my very last treatment for breast cancer. This time last year, a final dose of Herceptin whirled through my veins, capping off 52 weeks of therapy with this targeted drug and completing a total of 18 months of intensive cancer care. Where has the time gone? It's gone to a preschool job, writing jobs, a revamped exercise routine and an overhauled diet; to kindergarten pick-ups, reading and writing practice sessions, arts and crafts and play dates; to beach trips, family trips, a Canyon Ranch trip; to trick-or-treating, Christmas cheer, backyard Easter egg hunts; to birthday celebrations, anniversary celebrations, the arrival of my new baby niece; to growing out my hair, ditching an anti-depressant, and clean ...

It's been a year since I started this blog and almost exactly a year to the day after I started this blog, it got chosen as a Diabetes Information "Top Ten" site by healthcenteral.com. Gotta love that! The other major development has been that, for some reason beyond human understanding, the Wall Street Journal has been featuring a link to this blog on all its health-related articles, even when they have nothing to do with the subject of the blog. This, of course, means that I'm getting a lot of traffic from people whose only interest in health is financial, and that investors, like those who participate on the discussion board, "Investors Village," regularly denounce me for what has to be the delusional belief that my blog postings are sending the value of their Amylin or Pfizer stocks low...

If not, cannabis or ginger can also prevent vomiting. On this day 27 years ago a couple of wide eyed and legless teenagers signed on the dotted line. No big gothic church venue, the registry office was situated in the old police station. Wedding photos bear witness to this, “County Police Station” emblazoned in the sandstone lintel above the entrance. Yup, we got married on Valentines Day. More than a quarter of a century later we’re still holding on tight. Today’s celebrations were much in keeping with our humble beginnings.
