<title>Delay in Removing Appendix In Specific Circumstances Does Not Affect Overall Mortality</title>
            <link>http://www.medworm.com/index.php?rid=3987000&amp;cid=t_183844_83_f&amp;fid=34856&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Finsidesurgery.com%2F2010%2F09%2Fdelay-removing-appendix-specific-circumstances-affect-mortality%2F</link>
<description>In a study sure to be misapplied to a broader scale than is warranted, a large retrospective review appears to show that overall mortality in cases of appendicitis marked by phlegmon or abscess formation after rupture has already occurred, delaying the case affects the severity and length of recovery, but not the overall thirty day mortality.

<description>The mystery pain that I had back in Feb 2008 has returned.  Back then, I thought that I had a kidney stone, but the doctors were not so sure.  At the time, I had a lot of pain that felt very similar to a kidney stone – came and went, sharp sometimes and dull achy pain other times.  I did have a stone that was in my kidney but the urologists told me that I shouldn’t have pain with it there – it would only hurt when it made its way to the urethra.   My general doctor thought that it was the stone causing the pain so I never really had a clear answer since no one agreed.
Since then, I have had bouts of pain that felt similar but not as severe and they would last only a few days.  Well, I started having pain again on Jan 16th and it got really severe this time.  I was hurting near...</description>

            <title>Posssible Urine Test For Appendicitis</title>

<description>We don&amp;#8217;t seem to hear about too many people these days who have appendicitis - I&amp;#8217;m not sure why, but people still do get it and it can be very serious.
My daughter had appendicitis when she was 15 and her roomie at the hospital had it as well, except her appendix had burst before the surgeon got to it. When an appendix bursts, this can cause infection in the belly, which can be life threatening. Luckily, the girl was ok, but it must have been very frightening for her parents.
It&amp;#8217;s not always easy to tell if a child has appendicitis, or anyone for that matter.
