My multiple sclerosis interview: it seems ages ago now that we offered you an opportunity to interview me, doesn’t it? The summer has slipped away and my schedule has compressed as I move closer to my wedding (October 10, Rusty). For those of you just joining us I posted a blog topic that allowed you (the MS community) to post any questions you might wish to ask me about my multiple sclerosis via the comment section. The questions below are the result of that post. You put great thought into your questions and I wanted to do the same for my answers.
So, at long last, here it is your interview with me. I hope you enjoy. –Trevis!
Did you undertake a new diet upon learning you got MS?
I had been on a special diet for a liver condition when I was diagnosed. I had been sta...

Today my MS blog post will include multiple sclerosis, semi-intoxicated women, Montel Williams, Oprah Winfrey and me. Sounds interesting right?
My local pub opened for St. Pat’s day at 10:00am yesterday (and mine was the first pint drawn thank you very much). I had been up since 4:30am to begin my ritual holiday baking and check the beef which had been braising in Guinness Stout and onions all night so considering that I had been up for about six hours that’s not as early as it might seem for a pint. By late afternoon my delivery rounds had been completed and everyone had their scones or wheaten bread, stew, colcannon and roasted veggies well into them. After those deliveries it was time for me to relax and enjoy “amateurs’ night out.”
It’s said that, “Everyone’s Ir...

Last week, I was invited to attend a meeting of the Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association (WBBA), a trade organization of some very bright minds. The evening’s topic was, as you would guess, multiple sclerosis.
The panel consisted of a well respected local MS specializing neurologist, a representative of a small bio/pharma company which is studying the next generation of Interferon drugs for multiple sclerosis and the Medical Director of the Swedish Neuroscience Institute.
Information passed along at the meeting was comprehensive and very interesting. I’m still pouring over my copies of the PowerPoint slides for future blog topics. One thing, however, struck me so completely that I thought I’d share it with you this Monday.
I saw an MS lesion.
Now, I know we’ve all se...

Thanksgiving and hard work

I forgot to blog on Monday. Usually, I like to blog three times a week, but Monday I was really busy getting my house ready for Thanksgiving. Feathering my nest has become a bigger project than I planned. On Saturday, I invited a dear friend to a fun-filled day of painting my kitchen and bathroom. She showed up with her husband who did an amazing job repairing the walls and painting my bathroom. I am so blessed to have these friends; then they insisted it was a labor of love. The job in the bathroom and fresh paint in the kitchen made other rooms look shabby, and well, I did a room makeover for my son and changed the guest room. Now I am probably too exhausted to enjoy Thanksgiving.
For Thanksgiving Day, we have invited my in-laws. I adore them! My mother-in-law is 85 and my father-in-law ...

That was fast. <del>But I’m grateful that Blogger.com looked into this ASAP and took specific actions to fix it</del> Maybe the plagiarist had enough sense to delete the post and save himself much trouble.
I know he could simply make another blog and plagiarize, yet again, some bloggers. But at least, he knows now that he cannot easily get away with it and that bloggers whom he plagiarized from aren’t going to take it sitting down. (Source: Prudence, M.D.)

This is certainly a bit off-topic, since this blog is dedicated to the world of medicine and science. However, the thing I want to rant about is about what I recently discovered concerning this health blog, so I’ve decided to talk about here, instead of doing so in my own personal (rant) blog.
I just logged into my health blog to check comments, when I noticed that I received a pingback from a certain Welcome to Micosha’s site. Of course, I’m curious to know which of my health blog posts he/she linked to and so I visited the site. And to my dismay, I found out that this Welcome to Micosha’s site blogger has just copied an entire post from this health blog.
