Well its really starting to get close to the culmination of 9 months of planning… I will be heading off to Happy Medics neck of the woods in 3.5 weeks to witness first hand, the life of an American Fire Fighter Paramedic. Its going to be an amazing trip which I still can’t really believe that I am going on.
Happy Medic is coming back to wonderful sunny overcast, rainy and cold Newcastle on the 19th November, to see how the NHS Ambulance service differs from his own Service back home in the States.
As part of his time over here, we are organising a night out in Newcastle to have a ‘meet up’ with any of the UK bloggers who know us and would like to meet up and have a chat and put faces to blog names for a change.
The invite also goes out to any readers who would like ...

I was very thrilled to have been able to meet with Mrtl and Mr. Mrtl this week. On their way to their new digs in the Deep Dark South they drove through my wee town and we met up for breakfast. This was a landmark moment for me as it was the first time I've eaten in a restaurant in over 3 years. I went out for lunch with my folks within a few days of my cancer diagnosis and had such a raging panic attack I had to flee the premises. I hadn't eaten out since. So I decided that meeting The Mrtls was the perfect time to test my new brain chemistry. SUCCESS!I had a giant pancake. After breakfast Mr. Mrtl left us gals to go do his Man Stuff so I took Mrtl back to my place to meet Yoshi. The key to a successful Yoshi interaction is to show no fear, ignore her at first and then just start to pet he...

A few exciting firsts occurred on Sunday which made for a very special day. First of all I met my very first fellow blogger for reals. I connected with Twisted Uterus who is in town for a vet conference. It was a fantastic surreal experience and very cool to meet her in person. She is a bubbly and enthusiastic lady and we hit it off right away chatting up a storm that didn’t abate the whole day. I met her in her hotel lobby at 11 am and she graced me with a wonderful TU original pottery piece which I was honoured to receive. We walked through downtown to the beach where we hopped on a water ferry to Granville Island to do some mooching around.Cherished Giftie It was quite crowded but very festive with all the colourful produce and other goodies. Twisty took photo after photo which tur...
