We’ve talked about Brenda Novak here before during our “Putting a Face on Diabetes” segment. Brenda’s son is diabetic and for five years she has worked tirelessly to raise money for a cure. She’s done an amazing job!

Each year she has an online auction with proceeds going to diabetes research. The auction offers a host of things such as vacation packages, books, online classes… really, just about everything you could imagine. There is something for everyone.
This year, she raised a whopping $270,611! In five years of fundraising, she has raised $762,298. That figure just amazes me. Never underestimate what you can do! Congrats to Brenda for her amazing effort!

Brenda Novak’s Diabetes Auction

We’ve talked with Brenda Novak before here at Blisstree. She’s a very successful author and diabetes advocate, who each year raises thousands of dollars for diabetes research. In just a few short years she has managed to raise a half a million dollars!

She’s truly an inspiration. Novak’s son is diabetic, and she has created an online auction that is easy to maneuver and use. I’ve poked around this site myself, and she has some fabulous prizes. She even has a few “one of a kind” experiences. There is truly something for everyone.
The auction ends at the end of this month, so I encourage everyone so log on and find something fabulous for themselves! You’ll get something fabulous for yourself and help to find a cure for diabetes in the process.

As I’ve mentioned before, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in my early 20s. It was hard enough getting it then. I can’t imagine getting it as a child. The shots, food restrictions, and constant monitoring is a difficult thing for children and their families. That’s why research and funding is needed until there is a cure.
