David Letterman, noting Yoko Ono’s 78th birthday last week, joked that she celebrated by breaking up The Jonas Brothers. Back in the twilight of sixties, perhaps early seventies, a much-appreciated Christmas gift (namely for my older brother Craig but which the rest of us took full advantage of) was a record player. Not just any [...] (Source: My journey with AIDS)

Earlier this year, I had the privilege of being interviewed on “Steppin’ Out Radio” by WABC-TV Sports Anchor and Reporter Scott Clark.
Producer Denise McIntee formed her company, Powerful Radio Productions, to communicate true stories of inspiration and recovery from substance abuse. Denise lives in Sparkill, New York with her twin daughters, Danielle and Dominique, and her husband Mike who works for the Late Show with David Letterman. To find out more about her work, please visit their website at www.steppinoutradio.com.
Question: How is Steppin’ Out like a 12-step meeting anywhere in the world?
Denise: Steppin’ Out is like a 12 step meeting anywhere in the world because we tell the true stories from real people who have overcome their problems and who unself...

– Wesley Autrey, New York City’s “subway Superman”
On January 2nd, 2007, 50-year-old construction worker Wesley Autrey was waiting with his two young daughters for the train at the 137th Street and Broadway station in the Harlem section of Manhattan. Also waiting was 19-year-old film student Cameron Hollopeter, who began having a seizure.
Autrey borrowed a pen and used it to keep Hollopeter’s jaw open. Understandably wobbly post-seizure, Hollopeter fell onto the tracks. Autrey saw the lights of the oncoming train, gave a stranger his daughters to hold, and jumped down. He protected Hollopeter by lying on top of him. The height of their bodies on top of each other is 20-1/2 inches; the t...

Alleged philanderer Jesse James
With Jesse James joining the likes of Tiger Woods, John Edwards, Mark Sanford, Eliot Spitzer, and David Letterman as the latest in a very long line of celebrity males admitting bizarre, pathetic, and downright sleazy acts of infidelity, I can honestly say that I would not want to trade places with their wives for anything – not the money, fame, power, glamour, mansions, or Academy Awards (okay, maybe for an Oscar). Elin, Elizabeth, Jenny, Silda, Regina, and now Sandra, you have my deepest sympathies, but I will never know what it’s like to be in your very expensive designer shoes.
That’s because I know for a fact that my husband would never have an affair. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Poor, naïve woman. Never say never. No one goes into a marri...

Does the David Letterman – Sarah Palin Flap Help Letterman in the Television Ratings?

David Letterman defends his jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughters in a seven minute segment above, June 10, 2009
Perhaps.
Sarah Palin would no doubt be horrified by the idea, but there’s a chance she could become the same boon to David Letterman’s career that Hugh Grant was to Jay Leno’s.
Grant’s 1995 appearance on NBC’s “Tonight” show after a prostitution arrest, where Leno famously asked “what were you thinking?,” was seen in retrospect as a turning point in the late-night race. It drew a huge audience and propelled Leno to the top of the ratings, a spot he would not relinquish.
Letterman did not court last week’s battle with Palin, who called him “perverted” for making a joke about her daughter getting “kn...

The Sarah Palin – David Letterman Flap continues with Palin calling for Letterman to offer up an apology to women.
Sarah Palin says David Letterman owes an apology to young women across the country for his joke about her daughter.
The Alaska governor appeared on NBC’s “Today” show Friday, continuing a feud with the CBS “Late Show” funnyman over his joke earlier this week that Palin’s daughter got “knocked up” by New York Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez during their recent trip to New York.
Palin also said she doesn’t believe she should be automatically considered the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.
Asked by Matt Lauer whether Letterman owed her daughter an apology, the ...

The David Letterman – Sarah Palin Flap really has illustrated the hatred of the LEFT dominated MSM for conservative leaders, especially THAT CLOWN Letterman.
Remember when they used to ridicule Ronald Reagan before his performance made him an American hero?
Sarah Palin went on the offensive today with an interview on NBC’s Today Show. Watch below and wonder who has come out ahead in this flap?

by Pat Salber, MD Compulsive eating is linked to TV viewing according to a study presented at the June 2-5, 2007 Endocrine Society meetings in Toronto. Alan Hirsch, MD, Director of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago, designed the study. It must have been a lot of fun to be a participant.Subjects got to eat potato chips while watching five minute monologues by either David Letterman or Jay Leno. They also ate chips during a five minute TV-free period. Subjects were not told the nature of the study to avoid influencing their munching behaviors. They were told that they should pay attention to the chips' sensory characteristics, such as taste and smell (aka, Soul-full Eating).Forty-five adults ate chips with Letterman, Leno or in ...
