In the aftermath of my recent cancer scare, I’m feeling lucky to be alive these days. But it doesn’t make the diabetes any easier. Ironically, the days I work out hardest are often my worst BG control days, since I’m so hungry and craving carbs…
All of these thoughts brought me back to this post, which [...] (Source: Diabetes Mine)

Here is a recap of some of favorite posts over the last few months. The first I just love, well… just because.
What does a 7 year old really think about diabetes… A little conversation that I thought y’all would appreciate… this was between my 7 year old daughter and myself (as she was proofreading my posts that I was writing this afternoon). K- “Mommy, what does diabetes food taste like”?
Depression…weight gain…diabetes- How do we stop this?… Depression… Obesity… Type 2 Diabetes. It sounds like almost one third of every patient I have ever seen. Now the kicker… mostly women. Middle aged women are more at risk for all 3 before mentioned ailments. We need to do something now and stop this cyclical pattern!
Sexual Dysfunction is common among both m...

Extremely Bad Science: Depression & Type 2

This study wouldn't get an "A" at a well conducted high school science fair! But it still got international media attention and you can bet that a lot of doctors are going to only read the headline and conclude that depression and diabetes go together. It DOES depress me to see yet another example of the lousy science that hurts people with diabetes, just as it depresses me to see the rotten treatment so many people with diabetes get.My choice for replacement headline? "DUMB DOCTORS DEPRESS PEOPLE WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES." (Source: Diabetes Update)
