So much diabetes news, so little attention to the individuals “in the trenches”…
It seems we’re bombarded with headlines, often about developments from the major pharmaceutical and device companies that do play a key role in how we live and manage our diabetes. But what about the folks that don’t have a billion-dollar budget? The [...] (Source: Diabetes Mine)

Have you also long been in search of a pack you can strap on during exercise that will actually hold the essentials you need for your diabetes? Hold your stuff in place, I mean, without bouncing? It seems someone finally invented one, and I kid you not, there’s practically nothing to it — just a [...] (Source: Diabetes Mine)

Christopher Thomas, 28, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just a year and a half ago. He lost his job, moved to New York City, and started partying hard. Too hard. His friends began calling him “the diabetic rockstar” (sing along here). You won’t believe what he’s done with that moniker since.
What started out as [...] (Source: Diabetes Mine)

Later this week my family and I are going on a cruise to Mexico. I always get hyped up about long trips and know that I will be trying to manage the plethora of all you can eat buffets, long days, sunshine, and being on the run. I will suffer through this …...gladly.

I just got the diabetes bag I ordered only two days ago from Rickina at Stick Me Designs. It is even nicer than I expected it to be. I can stuff every possible diabetes supply I can think of into this bag and still get it shut. Here's a photo:Needles, pen, pen needles, insulin vial, meter, lancet, strips, even my handy dandy needle snipper, all fit in. And with all this stuff in the bag, it still closed:Rickina, who recently went through a diabetic pregnancy which made her realize the need for this kind of bag, makes these herself. I also sew, and I can tell you, her work is beautiful. You could also put your glucose in one of the zippered compartments, or your house keys wallet and money, for that matter. It would also be perfect for putting in a larger handbag or for when you travel and wa...

Flight Travel With Diabetes And All Of The Necessary Supplies…

Keeping true to theme day here at b5media’s science and health channel, I am providing you with some suggestions in traveling while diabetic. Angela at Breastfeeding 1-2-3 has been kind enough to host our wonderful theme day, so go check out what all of my fellow bloggers had to say on their topics…
With all the security issues at the airports around the world, it can be tough at times to explain to someone, especially if there is a language barrier, that the needles you are carrying and clear liquid is a necessity and not something to be used for harm. I can appreciate both sides of the misunderstanding. From a security standpoint, better safe than sorry and I am sure that some “sicko” along the way has attempted to smuggle potent chemicals in medical supplies....

Filed under: Type 1, Type 2, Childhood, Adult Onset, Lifestyle, Drugs, Research, ProductsScarborough Research, the leading local market research firm for identifying consumer and retail behaviors in the United States, took the liberty of compiling a list of the top local markets selling diabetic medications in the last 12 months. A dubious distinction it may be, these locations burn like a flame for the moths of diabetes product resellers.
Knoxville, TN, Memphis, TN, and Columbus, OH round out the top 3 local markets for diabetes medication purchasers. The Scarborough analysis also finds that Walgreens is the number one national drug store brand among diabetes medication purchasers. More than 3.1 million, or 18%, of these consumers purchased prescription drugs at Walgreens during the past ...
