Lie to Your Kids and Feel Good About It

If someone tells you they never lie to their kids, they’re lying. Some truth-stretching is essential in order to spare youngsters from life’s harsh realities, or just make parents’ lives a little easier. Stephen Colbert, host of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report,” coined his own term for it: Truthiness – truth that comes from the gut, not books. So, here are four instances when we give you permission to lie straight to your kids’ faces.
Santa/Easter Bunny/Tooth Fairy Dilemma
We know this one is controversial. Some hardcore parents spill the beans from day one about Santa Claus and the rest of them being big fat phonies. But those families miss a lot – leaving out cookies for Santa and carrots for his reindeer, hunting for eggs on Easter Sund...

My pal at "Life with Joey" drew my attention to an interesting "video." If you have a mo, nip over to "Joey's Mum" and read "her" words before you watch it. Do not be alarmed that your computer has broken, the sound track has been disabled which I might just have noticed if I'd cleaned my bifocals first.Don't forget to add your name to the "list" and help spread the word. I have a terrible feeling that I'll miss the opportunity to test USPS by sending it abroad. I need more foreigners. Know any foreigners? I wonder if it's because I'm using the wrong word? Do foreigners know what a giveaway is? Foreigners! Foreigners! Calling all foreigners! It's a freebie!Cheers dearsIf you like what you read, send it to someone in 'need.'
We think long and hard before we agree. It would be impossible to take the boys to a three hour Church service but that’s no reason to deny my daughter the chance to go with her pal. I write out our telephone numbers on cards, one for my daughter and one for pal’s mother as they have been mislaid again. It seems like the ideal opportunity to expose my daughter to a different way of life, as well as inform pal’s mum that my name is not Natalie. I’m surprised that the name of the Church is unknown but I’m very forgetful myself and word retrieval is often an issue around here. Maybe it’s the accent that I have trouble with, or the speed of delivery but I only catch three words; alternative, black and singing. Racism in the States is more complicated than in Europe. Since I am Cauc...

It’s Maundy Thursday Here in The Phils.

Huwebes Santo or Maundy Thursday is what it is today here in the Philippines. This is the last week of lent and on Sunday will be Easter already — what is in the Catholic Church calendar the start of a new life. ;-)
Hmm…if I am being a good Catholic, I should have been away from the internet and my computer for a long time now. But it doesn’t look that way at all. Ha ha ha ha.
Anyway, I’m gonna wish you a Happy Easter already! :-D
