Creative Funding Solutions for Mental Health Care

As we read our way through the detailed, insightful articles of The American Prospect’s special issue on the politics of mental health, we’ll share interesting tidbits from them.
Taxpayers historically hate having to pay for public services through increased taxes of any kind.
Arts and Crafts Fairs provide seniors, their families, and their caregivers with a chance to mingle, socialize and set up a booth or table for selling their creative handmade items. I visited the Central Coast Seniors Center Craft Fair and Bake Sale on Saturday, November 3, 2007.
Leave it to the power house of all discount pricing Wal Mart to help battle diabetes and provide a more affordable kind of health care. Seriously speaking, it is a great contribution to this region of America. Over 7% of the US population has diabetes and I can guarantee that half of Americans do not have the resources to treat their disease!
Wal Mart is teaming up with Delta Regional Authority (DRA) to help persons prevent, and treat their diabetes. Through the health fairs that will be provided, residents will be encouraged to see health care professionals and keep on top of managing their illness.
Each Hometown Health Fair will include free biometric screenings: body composition, including weight, body fat and body mass index; total cholesterol check; HDL, LDL and triglycerides levels a...
