My pal at "Life with Joey" drew my attention to an interesting "video." If you have a mo, nip over to "Joey's Mum" and read "her" words before you watch it. Do not be alarmed that your computer has broken, the sound track has been disabled which I might just have noticed if I'd cleaned my bifocals first.Don't forget to add your name to the "list" and help spread the word. I have a terrible feeling that I'll miss the opportunity to test USPS by sending it abroad. I need more foreigners. Know any foreigners? I wonder if it's because I'm using the wrong word? Do foreigners know what a giveaway is? Foreigners! Foreigners! Calling all foreigners! It's a freebie!Cheers dearsIf you like what you read, send it to someone in 'need.'
While I watch another tv discussion program on Integration of Foreigners in our society I can not help to get annoyed by this subject. I wish there was an equal amount of money and media attentions spent on autism matters. In my homecountry The Netherlands one of the main issues in general and political discussions is about how to deal with Integration of Foreigners Issues. There are many foreign employees working here. They were asked to come here and do our dirty jobs during the sixties and seventies. They contributed not only in the our prosperity but have also created a culture of their own. Many people from Turkey and Maroc, especially elder man and imported brides- do only speak their own language. For years the foreigners could, due to our policy, just live their own life in our cou...

A Timorese young man with End Stage Renal Disease: Ethical issue, treat or not treat?

Dr. T forwarded me this interesting ethical dilemma and I think those of you who work in hospitals whereby uninsured poor foreign patients end up will certainly sympathize with the doctors concerned. Reproduced here with names changed and some minor editing (mainly typos and grammatical errors)
—-Start—–
X is a young Timorese with recently diagnosed ESRD. During the first presentation two months ago, he was critically ill and needed intubation and urgent dialysis in ICU of Hospital Q. Because he is a foreigner, he has not been given the equal opportunity to live like the local people. Subsequently, he was discharged twice and both ended up with intubation and CPR. I am amazed despite all the CPR and intubation, he still alive and he is now perfectly well, as long as he is...
