Google has created a new knowledge-based system which allows experts (such as us), to write knowledge-oriented articles complete with images, multimedia and links which only the author can update.
This may suit doctors who wish to help share knowledge but wish to still retain control and have all their articles linked in the one place.
For instance, this US dermatologist has written articles on:

molluscum contagiosum
urticaria
rosacea

A wiki such as the Ozemedicine wiki is great for collaboration and keeping everything linked together and searchable without ending up getting lots of extraneous search results from the millions of non-authoritative authors which have taken over the internet world.
Wikipedia itself is useful, but there is no easy way of protecting your efforts from being ed...

The Austin and Northern Hospitals in Melbourne, Australia have created a new website to assist in ED education, particularly for ACEM trainees.
It has a nice range of VAQ’s which are well worth perusing as well as many other resources useful to trainees.

Although hot flashes are the target of many jokes, they can be serious life disruptors for many women impacting overall health and well-being. Flashes are more than just an inconvenience and research aimed at understanding their impact has shown a relationship between nighttime hot flashes and impaired verbal memory. Recent data also suggests that women with hot flashes have lower bone density, thus increasing their risk for osteoporosis.

Proceed With Caution
In the past, many women turned to hormone therapy to alleviate hot flashes. Now, with concerns about the safety of hormone therapy, some are reluctant to take this approach to alleviate menopause symptoms such as flashes. As a result, many are seeking alternative treatment options with variable degrees of success. There are numerous ...

eMJA has just published the new position statement by Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases (ASID) and the Swine Influenza Task Force of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ).
I have updated the Ozemedicine wiki page on Tamiflu with the link and main recommendations.
Perhaps the main recommendation that many ED doctors may not have been doing to date is that ALL patients hospitalised with H1N1 09 should be given antiviral Rx (eg. Tamiflu) even if they have had the illness > 48 hours.
And, of course, it reinforces the recommendation that it should be given to pregnant patients as the benefits appear to outweigh the risks in this high risk group.
Lastly, ED doctors and nurses should perhaps be considered for long term prophylaxis:

Doctors can now prescribe Tamiflu for a patient with presumed H1N1 swine influenza within 48 hours of onset, and in addition write a letter to the pharmacy authorising free dispensing of Tamiflu for the number of household contacts.
See The Age report.
Interestingly, according to The Age, the approved pharmacies can only be found in the eastern, western, south-eastern and northern suburbs of Melbourne. Now let me get my compass out - hmmm… not sure what suburbs are being left out here, I think they have most of the compass well covered seeing that Port Phillip Bay occupies most of the region to the south of Melbourne.
A full list of pharmacies can be found here. (Source: Oz E Medicine - emergency medicine in Australia)

Already in 3 months, 1000 people affected and 1 death.
There are fears the outbreak would become endemic by the end of the year, meaning outbreaks would not be limited to the wet season.
In 1953-55, the outbreak lasted 2 years and affected 15,000 people around Townsville region. (Source: Oz E Medicine - emergency medicine in Australia)

“I do not think we truly realize how dramatic, demanding and debilitating many of the conditions we see and treat daily really are for the patient and family, and how small a component the emergency presentation is in the long continuum of each person’s sickness. If I am now able to make their experience, understanding or acceptance of what happens to them in the emergency department and beyond that much better, to empower them from the start in their process of healing, I have achieved my greater goal.”
A quotation from an article written by WA ED physician Assoc. Prof. Anthony Brown and published on the web here. It is well worth a read.
We don’t always understand and often are not willing to try to understand why some patients present to the ED until we ourselves hav...

Conclusion
The current evidence points towards this natural essential fatty acid being beneficial for schizophrenia especially when run alongside current antipsychotic medication.
Any good doctor or nutritionist will tell you that the best way to get any nutrient is to eat a very balanced diet. In the case of Omega 3 oil this would be in the form of fish. Sadly due to the pollution levels found in our oceans today eating large portions of fish every day is not advisable.

Only a philosopher could discover that the human being is completely absurd since this fact means that humanity is totally crazy. A psychiatrist could not come to that conclusion without being considered crazy.
Only a poet could listen to the inner voice of the unconscious wisdom, recognize her ignorance and feel how horrible it is to live in a place where everyone is crazy.
The cure of schizophrenia and psychosis is the total and absolute respect to the moral principles of goodness. A schizophrenic is someone who is completely dominated by the wild side of his or her conscience.
In case the patient is a murderer, one must learn how to forgive oneself, which is usually impossible to achieve since no one can forgive one’s own faults when they have caused despair and...
