You can feel it in the air – it’s almost the weekend. And there are a lot of things we want to get done in the next two days:

Get in some personal TLC time.
Whether this means having an orgasm (solo or not) or getting a massage, it’s going to be all about us at some point this weekend.

Read.
The weather is perfect for just sitting outside with an iced tea and getting caught up in a story. An added bonus? Reading will boost our brain power.

Sample some fancy cheeses.
It’s been a while since we took a trip to the local fromagerie (we took French in college, no big deal) to buy some cheese we can’t afford. But it’s totally worth it, because dairy could reduce our risk of heart disease.

Rent a movie.
Going to the movies nowadays will set you back quite a ...

7 Tips for Healthier Barbequing This Summer

Summer time is BBQ time for most of us. But in the past few years, there has been a lot of concern about the health issues relating to barbequing meats.
In particular, health concerns revolve around the potential exposure carcinogenic compounds such as Hetrocyclic amines (HCAs) that increase as meat is charred on the grill and Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAAs) that are created when fat and meat juices drip onto the coals and stones.
Back in 2005, HCAs, which has been shown to cause tumors in animals and possibly increase the risk of breast, colon, stomach, pancreatic, and prostate cancer in humans, was added to The National Institute of Health’s hit list of cancer causing agents.
But that doesn’t mean you should stop BBQing.
It just means you need to grill safer.
Here’s how...

How many times have you been to a barbecue and have had dry grilled chicken? I have and have been responsible for lots of pieces of dried chicken myself. Chicken is notoriously difficult to get right on the grill. Lately though, I've figured out a few tricks to make sure that it's moist, juicy and perfectly done. Get the right cutI usually buy whole broiler-fryers and cut them up myself....
There is no other cooking method as interactive as grilling. Something about a piece of meat (or vegetables or even fruit) over an open flame goes back to primitive times where that's what it meant to cook. Nowadays, we've stepped out of the traditional hamburgers, hot dogs, and steaks and have been grilling things such as fruit kabobs, avocados, and even lettuce.
This is the second part of the Spot Pass Bloggers’ Food Tour series. I’ve already covered the TriNoMa part of the tour in my previous post.
Not being too familiar with the area, I used the bus that’s going around (which usually gets the bulk of its passengers near the Ayala MRT station). It’s lovely getting around Bonifacio High street, as the streets are clean and there aren’t too many people. Commuting has been stress free for me. At the end of the bus ride, I discovered that I was with Mica and Maki in the bus the whole time (though they’re seated much upfront). Then, together, we proceeded to Krispy Kreme at Bonifacio High Street to meet up with the other bloggers participating in the second part of the Spot Pass Bloggers’ Food Tour.

Few certainly doesn’t mean less good, as seen on the Spot Pass Bloggers’ Food Tour last April 25. There were 100 bloggers and 17 establishments who participated in this food appreciation activity. There were those who were veterans of the previous TriNoma food tour but there were newbies, as well.
It was good that we started on time because, though there were fewer restaurants participating this time, it’s still a lot! And we need to be spending more time in each establishment so we could enjoy the food better and interact with the restaurant staff more.
So, off we went…(WARNING! LOTS OF FOODIE PICS! BE READY TO GET HUNGRY!)

The Madison Grill

Just like in the last food tour, this was the place where we started the tour. Chef Lou treated us to a good round of pizza...

Our first stop is The Madison Grill, located at the 3rd level. This place specializes in steaks, seafood, and signature pizza (can you believe it?!). It opened its first store at TriNoma mall last November 21, as introduced by the Strategic Brands Network (SBN), the group that introduced brands like Oliver’s Super Sandwiches (can be found also in TriNoma), Haagen-Daz Ice Cream, Max Brenner Chocolate Bar (can be found also in TriNoma), Tea & Therapy, and Scoozi Cantina Italiana.
There’s a bit of awkwardness, though, because it was the first restaurant we went to in the food tour and it seemed that the restaurant also haven’t that much idea about what the food tour is supposed to be. However, the chef was very accommodating and polite and was able to tell us about the c...
