By David BoazRecently I criticized Sen. Jim DeMint for saying, “It’s impossible to be a fiscal conservative unless you’re a social conservative,” and I noted that former governor Mike Huckabee had made similar points. Yesterday on “Fox News Sunday” Huckabee said, “all social conservatives I know are also fiscal conservatives. Not necessarily the other way around.”
Well, I can tell you one social conservative who isn’t a fiscal conservative — former governor Mike Huckabee. Here’s what Cato’s “Fiscal Policy Report Card on America’s Governors” reported in 2006, at the end of Huckabee’s tenure as governor of Arkansas:

By David BoazYou know you're really wrong when Mike Huckabee can call you out. But that's the situation Mitt Romney finds himself in, as Michael Cannon points out below. Huckabee says Romney's government-run health care plan with an individual mandate is a bad idea, Romney says he's still proud of his plan, which is totally different from President Obama's government-run health care plan with an individual mandate. But really, what can he do? In 17 years of seeking high political office, he is known for two things: changing his position on a surprisingly large number of issues, and his Massachusetts health care program. Which was of course the forerunner of Obamacare, as Michael Cannon and I pointed out in the video that Michael linked. So Romney is still defending a position I think we'...

By Michael F. CannonIn 2006, then-Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney (R) fought for and enacted a health care law now known as RomneyCare -- though the law is so nearly identical to ObamaCare that one could call it ObamaCare 1.0. Romney is seeking the GOP nomination for president in 2012. But since 84 percent of Republicans want ObamaCare repealed, the fact that he paved the way for ObamaCare is causing problems for Romney among the party faithful. The most recent manifestation came in the form of a tongue-lashing from former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee (R), whose book criticizes Romney both for enacting RomneyCare and for refusing to admit it was mistake. In a recent interview, Huckabee said:
The position he should take is to say: "Look, the reason Obamacare won't work is bec...

By David BoazOn his “700 Club” program this week, Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson endorsed the decriminalization of marijuana. He says, “We’ve got to take a look at what we’re considering crimes. I’m not exactly for the use of drugs, don’t get me wrong, but I just believe that criminalizing marijuana, criminalizing the possession of a few ounces of pot, that kinda thing it’s just, it’s costing us a fortune and it’s ruining young people. Young people go into prisons, they go in as youths and come out as hardened criminals. That’s not a good thing.” Check out the video:

Robertson’s comments come a few days after other conservatives, including Ed Meese and Gov. Rick Perry, have joined to encourage new conservative thinking about who should...

OK, the election’s over, and the message from most voters was that they didn’t care much for President Obama’s agenda. Now the focus is on the race for the presidency in 2012.
On the Republican side, it’s a dead heat between the ex-governors – Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Mike Huckabee of Arkansas and Sarah Palin of Alaska, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary voters.

Suppose we applied that principle [to] our property insurance. And you can call your insurance agent and say, "I'd like to buy some insurance for my house." He'd say, "Tell me about your house." "Well sir, it burned down yesterday, but I'd like to insure it today." And he'll say "I'm sorry, but we can't insure it after it's already burned." Well, no preexisting conditions."I find it hard to summon up an intelligent counter-argument.
By David BoazCould it be the Washington Post? Bannered across the top of the Post’s op-ed page today is a piece titled “Copenhagen’s political science,” titularly authored by Sarah Palin. I’m delighted to see the Post publishing an op-ed critical of the questionable science behind the Copenhagen conference and the demands for massive regulations to deal with “climate change.”
But Sarah Palin? Of all the experts and political leaders a great newspaper might call on for a critical look at the science behind global warming, Sarah Palin?
What’s even more interesting is that the Post also ran an op-ed by Palin in July. But during this entire year, the Post has not run any op-eds by such credible and accomplished Republicans as Gov. Mitch Daniels; ...

National Review Online invited me to offer comments on the four police officers who were murdered in Tacoma, Washington. Here’s an excerpt:
The vicious killing of the police officers in Tacoma, Washington, may well have political repercussions for Mike Huckabee, as others have noted here. The primary suspect is Maurice Clemmons, who in 1989 received a 95-year prison sentence that was later commuted, in 2000, by then–Governor Huckabee. Whenever Clemmons has been free, he seems to have perpetrated still more violent crimes, according to the news stories.
I would, however, caution against a blanket condemnation of pardons, as well as any hasty move to simply abolish parole. The American criminal-justice system is thoroughly swamped. Right now there are more than 7 million people ...

On The Daily Show last night, former Governor and Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee was interviewed by host Jon Stewart, and although the interview was heavily clipped, the bulk of the conversation aired focused on abortion.
I hope to update more later with further commentary after rewatching/watching the extended version online. However, but two things stood out that I want to comment on now. Please note that the “quotes” below are not direct transcripts, but the best of my recollection.
Huckabee said something, when talking about work to convince women not to have abortions, to the effect of “if we can get them to realize, that’s a heartbeat, that’s a life.” He also refers at some point to young women and his thinking that most of them must have be...

US Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee speaking at the University of Maryland in College Park. Huckabee may still be a long shot in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, but his weekend victories in Kansas and Louisiana proved he is likely to be a thorn in the side of frontrunner John McCain for some time to come.
Mike Huckabee must have figured out that he would NOT be selected as likely GOP nominee John McCain’s Vice President.
Speaking at a press conference after addressing Thomas Road Baptist Church, Huckabee continued to compare himself to Ronald Reagan, who ran in 1976 against the party establishment, which led to a floor fight at the national convention. When reminded that the Republicans lost the 1976, Huckabee said it wasn’t because the party was d...

Republican presidential hopeful, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, reacts to winning the Kansas Republican presidential caucuses as he speaks to reporters in Washington, Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008.
Mike Huckabee today won the Kansas Caucus but is fooling himself if he thinks by staying in the GOP race it helps the Republican Party. Huck will not be able to win because he is far behind in the delegate count.
In the meantime, Huckabee confirmed that Texas Governor Rick Perry had called him and asked him to quit.
“Had he been my endorser, I would have taken that quite seriously,” Republican presidential contender Mike Huckabee told reporters a short time ago, after confirming to them that Texas Gov. Rick Perry called him this week to urge that he drop out of the GOP presidential rac...

US Republican Presidential candidate and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee delivers his morning speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington February 9, 2008. Huckabee said he was staying in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
Mike Huckabee facing overwhelming GOP delegate counts to John McCain is staying in the Presidential race - at least for now.
Flap guesses McCain has not and will not promise him the Vice Presidency so Huck will be a thorn in his side.
Next week after the Tuesday elections and McCain racks up more of a delegate lead Huckabee may be singing a different tune. But, he gave the CPAC crowd the red meat they wanted today. (Source: FullosseousFlap's Dental Blog)

James Dobson of Focus on the Family on John McCain: “I pray that we don’t get stuck with him”
It was rumored last Fall that Evangelical Christian leader James Dobson who dislikes John McCain and has made disparaging remarks about him would endorse fellow Evangelical Mike Huckabee for President. But, he didn’t.
Now, with the GOP nomination safely secured by John McCain with little hope that Southern Baptist minister Huckabee could actually beat McCain, Dobson endorses him.
Go figure.
Flap said before the Evangelical Christian Right would prove to be irrelevant in this Presidential cycle and they have. (Source: FullosseousFlap's Dental Blog)

As the chart indicates, drugmakers have been betting on Barack Obama, who received $154,710 in donations through December, almost entirely from individual employees and family members, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, which makes a point of tracking such things. He edged out Hillary Clinton, who raked in $140,544, including $6,000 from PACs, despite her regular promises to ‘take on’ drugmakers. Across the aisle, Mitt Romney collected $103,825, reflecting his pro-business stance and high profile in Boston’s biotech community. Not surprisingly, John McCain received just $39,797, which may seem like to some people, given his support for cheap imports. And Mike Huckabee, well, he got pocket change - $1,610, maybe because he was seen as long shot? (Source: Phar...

From the site:BioWindows is a very sophisticated artificial intelligence program that analyzes the genomic information from our nano-biochips.
With Super Tuesday coming up tomorrow, here are the Democrat candidates’ positions on autism:

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s autism plan calls for $700 million in funding for autism research and education; here’s the details.

Barack Obama talks about autism in his plan to empower Americans with Disabilities; an overview of the full plan (PDF file).

I have not found (and please let me know if you have!) autism plans on the websites of the other candidates. The Daily Iowan has published a letter from the mother of an autistic child in which she talks about John McCain. Mike Huckabee attended a haircutting fundraiser for autism in New Hampshire and a search of Mitt Romney’s website turned up “no results.”

Autism Bulletin also has an analysis of the candid...

Republican presidential hopeful, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, puts his hands to his ear to hear a question as he talks to the press on his charter plane while flying from Orlando to Atlanta, Monday, Jan. 21, 2008.
The Huckaboom is over and Fred Thompson has gone home to Tennessee to tend to his ailing mother. Will they withdraw before the Florida primary in a week?
Flap bets Thompson may but Huckabee won’t (as a slight to Romney). Also, Flap doubts Thompson will endorse until February 1, if then.
Huck will stay in through Super Tuesday with a suspended campaign - hoping for deliverance. (Source: FullosseousFlap's Dental Blog)

Republican presidential hopeful, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, right, shares a laugh with television star Chuck Norris Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008 in Navasota, Texas.
Chuck Norris is correct in saying that John McCain is too old to be President.
The Money Quotes:

“If John takes over the presidency at 72 and he ages 3-to-1, how old will he be in four years? Eighty-four years old — and can he handle that kind of pressure in that job?” Norris said, as Huckabee looked on.

“That’s why I didn’t pick John to support, because I’m just afraid the vice president will wind up taking over his job within that four-year presidency,” added the action star.

Norris who is 67 knows as many older Americans what the demands of the Presidency would place on a 71 ...

South Carolina GOP voters tomorrow MUST vote for Mike Huckabee.
Everyone knows Flap is a Rudy Giuliani guy. But, if John McCain wins tomorrow McCain may have enough built in momentum to challenge Rudy in Florida in a week. He may have enough Mo to win it all.
The same goes for Mitt Romney supporters. If you want Mitt to have a chance in Florida and Super Tuesday you MUST vote for Mike Huckabee tomorrow.
Do NOT let John McCain win the GOP nomination. McCain will continue to be detrimental to the Republican Party.
So, Flap agrees with Patrick Ruffini completely.

The GOP debate at St Anselm College tonight was the most intimate and the best GOP debate so far. No audience and no spinning the voter was able to hear the candidates answer questions about issues. There was little positioning and sparring was on a civil tone.
So, who won?
Nobody.
Not one candidate made a difference in this debate in this continuing story of a race for President in 2008.
However, there were some notable exchanges, contrasts and some observations to make.

Mike Huckabee, center, talks to media in Concord, N.H., in this Dec. 14, 2007, file photo. Rollins, 64, who likes to compare himself to a boxer and a ‘bare knuckles’ brawler, is widely acknowledged as an architect of Reagan’s 1984 re-election victory, a 49-state landslide; but he’s also known for far less successful exploits - some would say stunts.
Nice guys finish last, eh, Huck?
“We’re going to see if we can’t take Romney out,” Mr. Rollins said. “We like John. Nobody likes Romney.”
Nobody likes Huck much anymore either unless you are an Evangelical.
Mike Huckabee would never be able to reconcile the GOP to his candidacy should he win ...

Mike Huckabee’s FairTax Proposal is one of the biggest FLAWS in his campaign for the Presidency. If any other GOP candidate recommended such a ridiculously UNFAIR plan to middle class taxpayers they would be considered in the class with Ron Paul and William Jennings Bryan.
When will Huckabee be called out on the FairTax Ruse? (Source: FullosseousFlap's Dental Blog)

The Mac is back - at least in this poll:
McCain 33, Romney 27, Giuliani 14, Huckabee 11, Paul 9
Poll was conducted January 4-5 with a 5 point margin of error.
Not a huge margin for McCain and Huckabee does not seem to be getting a bump from Iowa Caucus win.
Should these results hold up.

Romney won’t be dealt a deathblow

McCain won’t be jump-started

Huckaboom in Iowa will be blamed on Evangelical demographics

Mike Huckabee with the help of the Boston Globe asks who would you want as President to make a clemency or pardon decision?
Huckabee’s point is clear: Romney is so hardhearted and politically calculating that he would deny a deserving veteran a chance to improve his life just because “he wanted to brag that he never, ever gave out a pardon” when he ran for president.
This story is touching and the point is made.
Flap would choose Mike Huckabee with all of his “conservative” failings because Huckabee is REAL and Mitt Romney is NOT.
Mitt Romney is for Mitt Romney (a sanctimonious hard-ass) and is a Road to Nowhere for the GOP.

Romney also attacked John McCain who just returned to Iowa today after campaigning in New Hamsphire for the past week.

Update: Romney Campaign response below

Mike Huckabee and wife at Iowa News Presser
Mike Huckabee in an Iowa news presser (lined with charts of anti-Romney opposition research) announced that he was not going to air a negative Romney television ad he filmed yesterday.
However, among laughter of the assembled press he played the ad.
Mark Halperin has a bootleg copy of the ad here.
The New York Times blog calls Huckabee’s stunt a “remarkable play” - maintaining the high road while providing the oppo research for others to do the dirty work.
Telling you what’s in the ad, of course, plays into Mr. Huckabee’s strategy of getting his message out — Mr. Romney is bad — while being able to say his hands are clean.

Mike Huckabee explains his spike of negative anti-Romney campaign ad in what is now called attack ad bait-and-switch
Mitt Romney in Iowa outside Bill’s pizza responds:
“You know in reaction to the press conference Gov. Huckabee had today, I think that I’d note that I’m running a serious campaign, that there are serious issues that face the country at this time. I want to bring change to Washington — that’s what my campaign is about. The press conference which Gov. Huckabee had today, I think, is confusing to the people of Iowa. On the one hand, he wants to run a positive campaign; and on the other hand, he shows a negative campaign ad and hopes that people promote it and provide it to the public through the earned media. Mike Huckabee says Mitt Romney owes him an apology.
Mike Huckabee told me Sunday that Mitt Romney should apologize for saying “blatantly untrue” things about him.
Huckabee also said such an apology would be accepted only if Romney also admitted that he “has not been forthcoming” about his own record.
Both statements came in a phone interview, after I had asked Huckabee whether he thinks he was owed an apology for negative commercials Romney has been running about him.
The Money Quotes:

“I didn’t draw first blood and say terrible things about Mitt,” Huckabee said. “I’m not angry. This is politics; it is the way it works. But he not only wants to make up his record, but my record.”

Mike Huckabee on today’s Meet The Press responds to Mitt Romney’s negative TV and mail attacks
Mike Huckabee today reiterated his mantra of the past few days calling Mitt Romney - DESPERATE, DISHONORBLE and DISHONEST. This time it was on a national TV show - Meet The Press.
Four days before the Iowa caucuses, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee on Sunday lashed out at Mitt Romney as desperate, dishonorable and dishonest — a notable change in tone that reflects signs Huckabee’s amazing insurgency has peaked.
“Mitt Romney is running a very desperate and, frankly, a dishonest campaign,” Huckabee said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Des Moines. “If you aren’t being honest in obtaining the job, can we trust you if you get the...

Mike Huckabee last night in Iowa lashed out against Mitt Romney and defended John McCain as an American hero. The comments above were in response to this negative attack ad now airing against McCain in New Hampshire:
“Desperate is one thing, but when you get desperate and dishonest its not a pretty sight. But then I saw the ad he’s using against McCain in New Hampshire”, Huckabee said in front of an audience of 500. “it’s one thing to attack me…John McCain is a true, honest-to-God American hero, and we should respect and honor him for who he is.”

Mitt Romney is going negative on McCain in New Hampshire and negative on Mike Huckabee in Iowa. It helps to have a large checkbook.
How will Team Huckabee respond?
Update:
Mike Huckabee responds:
Governor Huckabee took an indirect shot at his rival Mitt Romney, who has been shelling both Huckabee and John McCain with negative ads, or as the Romney campaign calls them ” contrast” ads, on both flanks. Huckabee said was asked if he planned on going “negative” to counter these ads against him. Huckabee said he didn’t plan on going negative, but wanted to show that a “positive campaign works”.
However, Huck then then dropped the hammer with this phrase:

Republican presidential hopeful and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee takes part in the Des Moines Register Republican Presidential Debate in Johnston, Iowa, Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007.
In a stunning reversal in the Florida GOP race, Mike Huckabee has taken the lead in the latest Rasmussen poll. For months Rudy Giuliani has owned Florida as his “firewall” against early state losses.

Mike Huckabee - 27% (9%, 11-18)

Mitt Romney - 23% (19%)

Rudy Giuliani - 19% (27%)

Fred Thompson -9% (16%)

John McCain - 6% (10)

Ron Paul - 4% (5%)

The Huckaboom has hit Florida and if this poll is not an OUTLIER then Mayor Giuliani may need a Plan B. Some pundits have already seen the shift to an early New Hampshire push for Rudy.
The GOP race is very fluid and jumbled. And, as Flap has s...

Republican presidential hopeful, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, comments during a press conference in Dallas, Texas, Monday, Dec. 10, 2007.
Flap has been discussing Mike Huckabee’s proclivity for making statements that will guarantee a 45 state loss for the GOP in next year’s Presidential race.

Jeanne White-Ginder the teenager whose life-ending battle with AIDS in the 1980s engrossed the nation, said Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, she wants to meet with Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee over his statement 15 years ago that AIDS patients should have been isolated.
Remember the comments of former Arkansas Governor and Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee during his race for the Arkansas Senate in 1992:

Mike Huckabee in Florida today discussing his Flip-Flop on the Cuba Embargo
Remember Saturday’s revelation of a previous Huckabee statement on homsexuality?:

“I feel homosexuality is an aberrant, unnatural, and sinful lifestyle, and we now know it can pose a dangerous public health risk…”

In a presser after his endorsement by Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio, former Arkansas Governor and Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee again discussed homsexuality.
After the endorsement, reporters barraged Huckabee with questions regarding his opinion on homosexuality. “Let’s understand what sin means — sin means missing the mark,” he responded. “Missing the mark can mean missing the mark in any area. Flap has to agree with Mark Halperin in that when necessary, former Arkansas Governor and Presidential candidate Huckabee simply acknowledges and repudiates his past statements and says he’s changed his views.
Look at this past weekend:

Illegal immigration as depicted in the video above

Homosexuality and AIDS Quarantine

Cuba Embargo

Campaigning in Miami Monday with powerful Cuban American leaders, Mike Huckabee made this promise:
“As president, I commit that we would veto any legislation that would lift the embargo that is currently in place, because we must keep that pressure on.”
But that hard-line position on Cuba is an about-face for the former Arkansas governor.

Mike Huckabee today on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace
Remember the statements from yesterday.
A suitable explanation from a future President? Huckabee finessed his answer and never did answer nor refute his out of the mainstream statements on homosexuality being an “aberrant, unnatural, and sinful lifestyle.”
The comments about Kimberly Bergalis were factually incorrect as Flap pointed out yesterday.
Mike Huckabee did nothing to relieve the fear that he is simply “UNELECTABLE” in a general election contest.

Statements about AIDS and homosexuality from Arkansas Governor and Presidential contender Mike Huckabee have surfaced that may implode his booming Presidential campaign:

“I feel homosexuality is an aberrant, unnatural, and sinful lifestyle, and we now know it can pose a dangerous public health risk…”

With regards to federal funding for AIDS research, Huckabee wrote:

“In light of the extraordinary funds already being given for AIDS research, it does not seem that additional federal spending can be justified….”

“An alternative would be to request that multimillionaire celebrities, such as Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna and others who are pushing for more AIDS funding be encouraged to give out of their own personal ...

The Mike Huckabee (Southern Baptist Minister) vs. Mitt Romney (Mormon) fight is threatening to tear the GOP apart.
And by Huckabee’s own logic, since he is not running for head of a theological college, what is he doing proclaiming himself a “Christian leader” in an ad promoting himself for president? Answer: Having the issue every which way. Seeming to take the high road of tolerance by refusing to declare Mormonism a cult, indeed declaring himself above the issue — yet clearly playing to that prejudice by leaving the question ambiguous, while making sure everyone knows that he, for one, is a “Christian leader.

Republican presidential hopeful, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee speaks Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, in Bluffton, S.C.
Is it OVER in Iowa?

Mike Huckabee - 39% (6%, September 26-27)

Mitt Romney - 17% (25%)

Rudy Giuliani - 9% (15%)

Fred Thompson - 10% (16%)

John McCain - 6% (7%)

This poll was conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International from December 5-6.
A commanding lead for Mike Huckabee with less than a month to go. Can Mitt Romney who has already spent over $7 million in Iowa make a comeback?
But, the sample size(GOP likely caucus goers) of this poll is small. This poll might be an OUTLIER and Huckabee’s lead may not be as large. Yet…….
Will Mitt Romney gamble and go negative on Huck in Iowa? Or concede and use New Hampshire as his “FIREW...

With former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee rising in the Presidential polls more scrutiny of his political record is given.
Is Mike Huckabee too SOFT on crime and criminals?
There is evidence that points to a YES conclusion.
If you’re wondering how Gov. Huckabee’s hundreds of clemencies compare with neighboring states, get ready for a shocker.
Huckabee leads the pack.
He has issued more commutations and pardons than all of the six neighboring states combined.

Mike Huckabee today at Pastors and Pews Conference in Des Moines, Iowa

As Mike Huckabee booms into the first tier, scrutiny of his stand on the issues begins.
After the Iowa poll showed that Republican voters like him but found him much less “presidential” and “electable” than Romney, Huckabee sought to build his foreign policy credentials, meeting with a group of retired generals who are in Des Moines to urge the 2008 candidates to commit to opposing torture. After the meeting, Huckabee joined Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in declaring his opposition to the interrogation procedure known as “waterboarding,” and said he would support closing the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, a contrast with the oth...

It WAS inevitable and did not take long for a discussion of Mike Huckabee’s record as Arkansas Governor and an ANONYMOUS attack to surface like this flier that was slipped under the door of reporters in Iowa overnight:

By the way, anyone associated with GOP politics or has attended a GOP convention is well acquainted with the flier under the door over night.
Is this a dirty trick?
More like standard operating procedure in GOP primary politics.

Republican presidential hopeful, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, signs autographs at a campaign stop in Manchester, N.H. Saturday, Dec.1, 2007.

Another trump by Huckabee over the Romney campaign in Iowa. And, this is an event that money cannot buy.
Today or tomorrow, Huckabee is a featured guest at the latest pastor briefing of the “Iowa Renewal Project,” which aims, in the words of an e-mail Don Wildmon sent to pastors, to “encourage pastors and their congregations to take a stand for morality in their daily lives.”

Mike Huckabee’s latest campaign ad now airing in Iowa
Is it too late for Mitt Romney to address the “MORMON” issue?
Orin Hatch, the Mormon GOP Senator of Utah thinks it is time for Mitt Romney to declare his independence from the Latter Day Saints Church.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney probably should give a speech to declare he’s not a captive of the Mormon church, Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch said Tuesday.
“There’s a concern that his religious beliefs might interfere with serving all people. There’s no question they do not,” said Hatch, also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. “He needs to put that problem to bed.”

Mike Huckabee discusses what he believes in this new ad.

The Iowa television airwaves are heating up with the latest Mike Huckabee ad: “Believe”. This ad targets Iowa Christian GOP voters:
The ad, titled “Believe,” goes up today in the early nominating state. In it, Mr. Huckabee uses his speech at the October Values Voters Summit to spotlight his anti-abortion position and his strength as a Christian leader.
“I don’t have to wake up every day wondering, ‘What do I need to believe?’” he says.
Marc Ambinder suggests that Huckabee is PLAYING THE MORMON CARD:
Is Huckabee playing the Mormon card, even unwittingly? Hard to say. His campaign says absolutely not. And intent matters, of course. But this being a postmodern politi...
