Conclusion

62 It is for these reasons that we uphold the Decision Notice. We record our gratitude for the helpful and succinct submissions of counsel on both sides and the incisive contribution of Professor Colquhoun. We wish to add that, whilst we have not accepted the great majority of the arguments advanced by UCLAN, we do not in any way seek to cast doubt on the veracity of the evidence of its witnesses, nor the honesty and loyalty with which they have sought to serve its interests.
63 Our decision is unanimous.

There’s so much information out in cyberspace relating to Alzheimer’s Disease that Mary Emma and I thought it would be interesting to set up a Blog Carnival here at Alzheimer’s Notes to create a community place to discover each others writings and thoughts.
Therefore, am happy to announce the launching of the All About Alzheimer’s Carnival.
Launch date for the first carnival will be 19 December.
That means if you are interested in submitting an article, it needs to be in by 17 December.
You can post your submission on this carnival submission form.
Spread the word and let’s see if we can get this carnival up and running…

AHIC meets, sets priorities for 2007

AHIC has set priorities of the ONC and its contractors for 2007. They include:

Patient access to EHRs
e-Prescribing and electronic medication management
Improve EHR ability to capture and report quality measures

Also occurring at the meeting:

A discussion on business models for HIEs
Reports from its workgroups on confidentiality, consumer empowerment, quality and biosurveillance
Demonstrations of the NHIN prototypes
HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt told the group it was achievable and desirable to implement a public-private successor to AHIC before the panel’s two-year charter expires in August

A report is available outlining past accomplishments and future efforts.
Why this matters: Checkpoint in Federal healthcare IT efforts.
