Experimental Research on the Antitumor Effect of Human Gastric Cancer Cells Transplanted in Nude Mice Based on Deep Learning Combined with Spleen-Invigorating Chinese Medicine
This article proposes the use of Chinese medicine to invigorate the spleen to inhibit human gastric cancer cells. This article combines modern machine learning technology with traditional Chinese medicine and combines traditional Chinese medicine physiotherapy with Western medicine nude mouse transplantation experiments. The treatment of tumors in Chinese medicine is based on the theory of Chinese medicine and has different characteristics. Western medicine has the advantage of permanently injuring patients. The process of the experiment is to transplant human-derived gastric cancer cells into nude mice. After grouping tre...

Chinese herbal medicine for cancer-related fatigue: A systematic review of randomized clinical trials.
CONCLUSIONS: The findings from limited number of trials suggest that Chinese herbal medicine seems to be effective and safe in the treatment of cancer-related fatigue. However, the current evidence is insufficient to draw a confirmative conclusion due to the poor methodological quality of included trials. Thus, conducting rigorously designed trials on potential Chinese herbal medicine is warranted. PMID: 24906595 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Biobanking for Personalized Medicine.
Authors: Liu A, Pollard K Abstract A biobank is an entity that collects, processes, stores, and distributes biospecimens and relevant data for use in basic, translational, and clinical research. Biobanking of high-quality human biospecimens such as tissue, blood and other bodily fluids along with associated patient clinical information provides a fundamental scientific infrastructure for personalized medicine. Identification of biomarkers that are specifically associated with particular medical conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and neurological disorders are useful for early detection, prevention, a...

Gene mutation‐based and specific therapies in precision medicine
Abstract Precision medicine has been initiated and gains more and more attention from preclinical and clinical scientists. A number of key elements or critical parts in precision medicine have been described and emphasized to establish a systems understanding of precision medicine. The principle of precision medicine is to treat patients on the basis of genetic alterations after gene mutations are identified, although questions and challenges still remain before clinical application. Therapeutic strategies of precision medicine should be considered according to gene mutation, after biological and functional mechanisms of m...

Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Conclusions I-131- MIBG therapy for neuroblastoma in children is a growing treatment regimen. However, it’s use is limited by access to centers who are equipped to provide the agent in a safe setting. The nuclear medicine technologist is a key player in all aspects of this therapeutic regimen from receiving the dose to patient discharge. Doses to the technologists, nurses, doctors and family members can be kept as low as reasonably achievable when a regimented protocol is followed and all team members are kept well informed.

Bio Intelligence: 5 Ways the Age of Information Will Democratize Modern Medicine
On July 13th 2013 at 7:15 pm I was sitting in a Wegman’s café eating dinner with two startup founders I was mentoring when I received a phone call from a dermatologist. He had removed a mole from my 10-year-old daughter’s arm a week earlier. My daughter and my six-year-old son sat at the table next to us chatting, eating, and playing games on their tablets. With just three words –“This is bad”—our entire world changed. We never saw it coming, we had no information, we were immediately at the mercy of strangers, and the normal we had known was irrevocably shattered in an instant, never to return. Within two wee...

Treatment of severe rash caused by crizotinib with both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine: Two case reports and literature review
Rationale: Lung adenocarcinoma is the most common pathologic pattern of lung cancer. During the past decades, a number of targeted agents have been explored to treat advanced lung adenocarcinoma. Recently, Crizotinib, the antagonist of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), has been widely used in ALK-rearranged lung cancer treatment. Crizotinib is generally well tolerated while its most frequent adverse events include visual disorders, gastrointestinal disturbances, cardiac and endocrine abnormalities. Rash caused by crizotinib is rarely seen, and there are few case reports of severe rash caused by crizotinib. Patient conce...

Cardiologist Eric Topol on How AI Can Bring Humanity Back to Medicine
In his new book, Deep Medicine, the cardiologist argues that artificial intelligence can bring humanity back to medicine. You tweet several times a day about the latest medical studies. Do you really read all of those articles? Every one of the 18,000 tweets come from me. People think I have an army of people to help me–no. I’m an information junkie. Ever since I was a kid I’ve been an incessant reader. I apportion time every day–a couple of hours in the morning and the evening. What is the biggest problem you see in medicine today? What’s happened is an erosion of the relationship, due to the...

Three Nuclear Medicine diagnostic procedures and breast cancer mortality in women. A population-analysis in Taiwan based upon National Health Insurance database.
CONCLUSION: The mortality of women with late-stage breast cancer was negatively related to the utilization of whole-body bone scan but not to the utilization of lymphoscintigraphy or the 18F-FDG PET/CT scan. In women with early-stage breast cancer, no significant correlation existed between breast cancer mortality and the utilization of the above three nuclear medicine procedures. Traditional Chinese Medicine Preparation Combined Therapy May Improve Chemotherapy Efficacy: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Conclusions: Traditional Chinese medicine preparation combined with chemotherapy may improve objective response rates and disease control rates more than chemotherapy alone. The evidence that combined traditional Chinese medicine preparation can reduce the side effects of chemotherapy is insufficient. More rigorous randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these conclusions. PMID: 31320914 [PubMed]
