Sip-jeon-dea-bo-tang, a traditional herbal medicine, ameliorates cisplatin-induced anorexia via the activation of JAK1/STAT3-mediated leptin and IL-6 production in the fat tissue of mice.
In conclusion, the present results revealed that SJDBT ameliorated cisplatin-induced anorexia, suggesting its usefulness in the prevention of anorexia during chemotherapy. PMID: 26936678 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Local Recurrence and Epithelial Dysplasia at the Resection Margin of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Objectives:  At the annual meeting of the American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM) in 2014, we reported on local recurrence resulting from dysplastic epithelia remaining at the resection margin in 15 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). In the present study, the relationship between p53 status i n dysplasia at the resection margin and recurrence was investigated with the same series of 15 OSCCs.

Eppikajutsuto (a Japanese herbal medicine) regulates mTOR and induces apoptosis in oral cancer cells
ConclusionsThe results suggested that eppikajutsuto might exhibit antitumor effect against OSC ‐19in vitro by suppressing mTOR activation. However, additional studiesin vitro andin vivo are required to confirm the antitumor effect of eppikajutsuto.

Efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine for erosive oral lichen planus: A protocol for systematic review and meta analysis
Conclusion: This systematic review protocol will be helpful for providing evidence of whether TCM is an effective and safe therapeutic approach for patients with EOLP. Ethics and dissemination: Ethical approval is not necessary as this protocol is only for systematic review and it does not involve privacy data or conduct an animal experiment. Traditional Chinese medicine use in patients with oral cancer: A retrospective longitudinal cohort study in Taiwan
This study measured the use of TCM therapies for oral cancer in a Taiwanese population-based retrospective longitudinal cohort study. The Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database was utilized to conduct this study. The study population was limited to oral cancer patients diagnosed between 2000 and 2009, which were followed up for at least 5 years. Therapeutic strategies investigated included acupuncture and the Chinese herbs and formula used.
