337 Estimating patient demand for Mohs surgery in the United States using Google search trends
Mohs surgeons (MS) who undergo an American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) accredited fellowship have intensive training needed to handle the complexities of skin cancer care. As the incidence of skin cancer rises yearly in the USA, these patients may use search engines to seek potential physicians that can help with their needs. However, this public demand for well-trained MS is currently not known. Google Trends was queried from 2004-2019 to find the average relative search volume (RSV) for the topic “Mohs Surgery” for each state.

Performance of 18 F-FDG-PET/CT as a next step in the search of occult primary tumors for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma of unknown primary: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions18F-FDG PET/CT is useful as a next step in the search of occult primary tumors in HNSCC-UP patients defined by endoscopy with or without CT/MRI. However, in light of the high false-positive proportion, confirmatory histological investigations should be viewed as necessary practice upon positive PET/CT findings.

However, the use of VDAs is associated with hypoxia activation an...

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGF-A) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) as Potential Biomarkers for Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Sri Lankan Study
CONCLUSIONS: VEGF-A gene expression, serum levels, and tissue VEGFR-2 levels correlated linearly with the stage and grade of the tumor. This study justifies the value of VEGF-A as a potential biomarker in OSCC in early detection of OSCC. More studies are needed to accept the use of VEGF-A.PMID:36708576 | DOI:10.31557/APJCP.2023.24.1.267
