Characterizing internet search patterns for neurologic and neurosurgical conditions following celebrity diagnosis
CONCLUSIONS: Following major events related to the neurological disease of public figures there is an expected rise in Google search interest relevant to these topics. Our findings suggest that there is an optimal window of approximately 2 weeks following each of these events for activist and clinical groups to publicize their desired message, and for the field of neurosurgery and neurological science to increase public awareness regarding specific diseases, with a regression to baseline interest by 4-months following the event.PMID:34763394 | DOI:10.23736/S0390-5616.21.05569-7

Conclusion We have reviewed the literature and identified blood biomarkers with the highest discriminative abilities as determined by operating characteristics in four commonly encountered clinical situations: diagnosing concussion, predicting the need for a CT scan after mTBI, predicting delayed recovery after mTBI, and predicting poor outcome after sTBI. The top performers in each category may provide insight into pathogenic mechanisms of TBI that most influence the measured endpoint. Deep Learning: A Review for the Radiation Oncologist
Conclusion: Over the past few years, there has been a significant number of studies assessing the performance of DL techniques in radiation oncology. They demonstrate how DL-based systems can aid clinicians in their daily work, be it by reducing the time required for or the variability in segmentation, or by helping to predict treatment outcomes and toxicities. Radiomics: A primer for the radiation oncologist.
