Hypereosinophilia with Hepatic Nodule Formation Caused by Ganoderma lucidum
Intern Med. 2021;60(24):3897-3903. doi: 10.2169/internalmedicine.7431-21. Epub 2021 Dec 15.ABSTRACTA 61-year-old man who underwent surgery for rectal adenocarcinoma developed multiple hepatic nodules. The nodules were 1-3 cm without a capsular structure or contrast enhancement on computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging, findings that were atypical for adenocarcinoma metastases. A biopsy showed the aggregation of eosinophils without larval bodies, ova, or granulomas. Laboratory tests showed a marked increase in eosinophils and a slight liver enzyme elevation. He had been taking the commercial herbal medicine Ganoderm...

Cancers, Vol. 14, Pages 897: Precision Medicine for BRCA/PALB2-Mutated Pancreatic Cancer and Emerging Strategies to Improve Therapeutic Responses to PARP Inhibition
e Pancreatic cancer is projected to become the second leading cause of cancer-related death by 2030. As patients typically present with advanced disease and show poor responses to broad-spectrum chemotherapy, overall survival remains a dismal 10%. This underscores an urgent clinical need to identify new therapeutic approaches for PDAC patients. Precision medicine is now the standard of care for several difficult-to-treat cancer histologies. Such approaches involve the identification of a clinically actionable molecular feature, which is matched to an appropriate targeted therapy. Selective poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase ...

Cancers, Vol. 14, Pages 1759: Lung Adenocarcinoma Tumor Origin: A Guide for Personalized Medicine
Feral Lung adenocarcinoma, the major form of lung cancer, is the deadliest cancer worldwide, due to its late diagnosis and its high heterogeneity. Indeed, lung adenocarcinoma exhibits pronounced inter- and intra-tumor heterogeneity cofounding precision medicine. Tumor heterogeneity is a clinical challenge driving tumor progression and drug resistance. Several key pieces of evidence demonstrated that lung adenocarcinoma results from the transformation of progenitor cells that accumulate genetic abnormalities. Thus, a better understanding of the cell of origin of lung adenocarcinoma represents an opportunity to unveil ne...

Network Pharmacology and Molecular Docking on the Molecular Mechanism of Jiawei-Huang Lian-Gan Jiang Decoction in the Treatment of Colorectal Adenomas
CONCLUSION: Findings in this study provided light on JWHLGJD's active components, prospective targets, and molecular mechanism. It also gave a potential way to uncovering the scientific underpinning and therapeutic mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulas.PMID:35899228 | PMC:PMC9313928 | DOI:10.1155/2022/8211941

Retracted MicroRNA ‑874 inhibits proliferation and invasion of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells by directly targeting paired box 6
Mol Med Rep. 2022 Dec;26(6):357. doi: 10.3892/mmr.2022.12873. Epub 2022 Oct 20.ABSTRACTFollowing the publication of this paper, it was drawn to the Editors' attention by a concerned reader that certain of the data shown for the cell migration and invasion assays in Figs. 2C, 4C and 5C were strikingly similar to data appearing in different form in other articles by different authors. Owing to the fact that the contentious data in the above article had already been published elsewhere, or were already under consideration for publication, prior to its submission to Molecular Medicine Reports, the Editor has decided that this ...
