NMDA receptor dependence of reversal learning and the flexible use of cognitively demanding search strategies in mice
In conclusion, NMDA receptors appear to be involved in the flexible cognitive processes that underlie reversal learning in spatial as well as non-spatial tasks. Our results also indicate that reversal learning as well as the use of cognitively demanding strategies are more sensitive to NMDA receptor blockage than some other functions that have been suggested to be NMDA receptor dependent.

Pall-02. the impact and value of integrating palliative care into a neuro-oncology clinic
CONCLUSIONS:This study suggests that a PCP in neuro-oncology can produce a high rate of establishing goals of care. A PCP can significantly reduce the cost of care in a value based model. Further study on the impact of palliative care in neuro-oncology seems warranted.

Pt-06 * randomized trial of high-precision conformal radiation therapy compared to conventional radiotherapy in preservation of long-term neuro-cognitive outcomes in young patients with progressive or residual benign/low-grade brain tumors
CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrate high-precision conformal radiotherapy superior to conventional radiotherapy in preservation of neuropsychological functions in young patients with benign/low grade brain tumors. This is among few trials generating evidence for use of modern conformal RT from an appropriately-powered trial with clinically relevant endpoints and act as suitable benchmark for testing newer RT- technologies.

Qlif-25. physical health risks in neuro-oncology family caregivers
CONCLUSIONS:Findings suggest that poor emotional health during caregiving is associated with markers of risk for cardiovascular disease. Clinically, interventions to address emotional health in caregivers should be implemented at the time of diagnosis. Future studies are needed to determine how these relationships change throughout the care situation, particularly given the strong link between CRP and cardiovascular health.

IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 13096: Efficacy of Neuro-Feedback Training for PTSD Symptoms: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
This study conducted a meta-analysis of neuro-feedback training for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms to evaluate the effects of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalogram (EEG)-based neuro-feedback training. A search of PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Science Direct, and ClinicalTrials.gov was conducted from January 2011 to December 2021. The studies’ quality was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool and publication bias was assessed by Egger’s regression test. Seven studies that met the inclusion criteria were used for the systemati...

Resting State Vagal Tone in Borderline Personality Disorder: A Meta-Analysis
Publication date: Available online 11 July 2015 Source:Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry Author(s): Julian Koenig , Andrew H. Kemp , Nicole Feeling , Julian F. Thayer , Michael Kaess Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is the most common personality disorder in clinical settings. It is characterized by negative affectivity, emotional liability, anxiety, depression, as well as disinhibition (i.e., impulsivity and risk taking), all of which have been linked to lower resting state vagal tone, which may be indexed by vagally-mediated heart rate variability (vmHRV). Here, we aimed to quantify th...

The impact of childhood adversities on anxiety and depressive disorders in adulthood.
CONCLUSION: Childhood adversities were found to increase vulnerability to the distress, depression, fear and anxiety later in the life. However, specific correlations between a given childhood adversity and a specific form of depression or anxiety disorder were either not found or weak. This is in line with the generally accepted view considering each of these factors a non-specific stressor increasing vulnerability to mood and affect disorders later in life. Serotonergic hallucinogens in the treatment of anxiety and depression in patients suffering from a life-threatening disease: A systematic review
Publication date: 2 February 2018 Source:Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry, Volume 81 Author(s): Simon Reiche, Leo Hermle, Stefan Gutwinski, Henrik Jungaberle, Peter Gasser, Tomislav Majić Anxiety and depression are some of the most common psychiatric symptoms of patients suffering with life-threatening diseases, often associated with a low quality of life and a poor overall prognosis. 5-HT2A-receptor agonists (serotonergic hallucinogens, ‘psychedelics’) like lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and psilocybin were first investigated as therapeutic agents in the 1960s. Recently, after a long ...

Diazepam fails to alter anxiety-like responses but affects motor function in a white-black test paradigm in larval zebrafish (Danio rerio)
Publication date: 20 April 2018 Source:Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry, Volume 83 Author(s): Hifsa Zahid, Benjamin Tsang, Hira Ahmed, Richard Chi Yeung Lee, Steven Tran, Robert Gerlai The growing popularity of zebrafish in psychopharmacology and behavioral brain research is partly due to the practicality and simplicity of drug administration in this species. Several drugs may be administered to zebrafish by immersing the fish in the drug solution. Furthermore, numerous drugs developed for mammals, including humans, have been found to show a similar effect profile in the zebrafish. Thus, the ...

Anxiety disorders and marital satisfaction.
CONCLUSION: Distress elements that contribute to the development of anxiety disorders can be diverse and sometimes it is not easy to identify so-called precipitating factors. The link between anxiety disorders and family relationships is bi-directional: psychological problems adversely affect patient relationships and attitudes of the partner towards the patient significantly affect his/her anxiety.
