Catastrophizing and rumination mediate the link between functional disabilities and anxiety/depression in fibromyalgia. A double-mediation model
CONCLUSION: Results support the interest of studying RNT as a transdiagnostic process in fibromyalgia pain. Considering RNT in fibromyalgia allows a better understanding of tthe links that exist between pain and emotional disorders in this population and thus to better understand the psychopathological comorbidity of fibromyalgia.PMID:37137739 | DOI:10.1016/j.encep.2023.04.004

Depression and anxiety in systemic lupus erythematosus: A case-control study on prevalence and associated factors in a single-center cohort
CONCLUSIONS: Depression and anxiety are most likely underdiagnosed in SLE. Prevalence appears to be similar to that of other chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases. Anxiety is associated with fibromyalgia, while depression is also associated with single marital status, smoking, organ damage, and severity of SLE.PMID:37118973 | DOI:10.1177/09612033231173510

The influence of alexithymia on disease activity and quality of life in patients with axial spondyloarthritis: A cross ‐sectional study
ConclusionThe present study results showed that about one-third of axSpA patients had alexithymia, and the patients with alexithymia had higher disease activity, worse quality of life, and worse functional status than those without alexithymia. Female gender, patient global assessment, functional status, and fibromyalgia symptom severity were found to be important contributing factors to alexithymia.

Emotional Dynamics in Fibromyalgia: Pain, Fatigue, and Stress Moderate Momentary Associations Between Positive and Negative Emotionsz
Affective disruptions, particularly deficits in positive affect, are characteristic of fibromyalgia (FM). The Dynamic Model of Affect (DMA) provides some explanation of affective disruptions in FM, suggesting that the inverse association between positive and negative emotions is stronger when individuals with FM are under greater stress than usual. However, our understanding of the types of stressors and negative emotions that contribute to these affective dynamics is limited. Using ecological momentary assessment (EMA) methods, 50 adults who met the FM survey diagnostic criteria rated their momentary pain, stress, fatigue...

Efficacy of mindfulness- and acceptance-based cognitive-behavioral therapies for bodily distress in adults: a meta-analysis
ConclusionsThe therapies addressing mindfulness and acceptance proved to be more effective than control conditions. Hence, they are promising treatment approaches for bodily distress. However, there is still need for research on which patient groups may benefit from these psychological approaches.Systematic review registrationhttps://osf.io/g7hby, identifier: 10.17605/OSF.IO/4RZGC.

The impact of fibromyalgia syndrome on obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in terms of pain threshold, daytime symptoms, anxiety, depression, disease severity, and sleep quality: a polysomnographic study
CONCLUSION: The findings suggest that FMS has no effect on polysomnographic parameters of OSAS. Headache, daytime fatigue, anxiety, depression, pain duration, and pain intensity are higher while the pressure pain threshold is lower when FMS is present. No correlation was found between OSAS severity and FMS, fatigue, pressure pain threshold, depression, and anxiety.CLINICAL TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: NCT05367167/date: April 8, 2022.PMID:37071285 | DOI:10.1007/s11325-023-02831-2
