Adjuvant therapy with traditional Chinese medicine in a heart failure patient complicated by hospital-acquired pneumonia: A case report.
CONCLUSION: Integrated therapy with a "clearing heat and damp excreting" decoction may have improved hospital-acquired pneumonia in a patient comorbid with congestive heart failure. The anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory, antitussive and diuretic effects of TCM may be responsible for the observed improvement. Further experimental studies are warranted to confirm the efficacy and mechanism of TCM action in the treatment of pneumonia. PMID: 30935540 [PubMed - in process]

Advances in Research on the circRNA-miRNA-mRNA Network in Coronary Heart Disease Treated with Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Authors: Lin F, Chen HW, Zhao GA, Li Y, He XH, Liang WQ, Shi ZL, Sun SY, Tian PP, Huang MY, Liu C Abstract There has been an increase in morbidity and mortality related to coronary heart disease (CHD) in China in recent years. Numerous clinical experiences and studies have shown that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) plays an important role in the prevention, treatment, and prognosis of CHD. However, the mechanism of TCM in the treatment of CHD has not yet been elucidated. The circRNA-miRNA-mRNA network consists of miRNA that is competitively bound by circRNA, and miRNA regulates the transcription level of mRNA. T...

Status Quo and Analysis of the Cardiovascular Clinical Practice Guidelines/Expert Consensuses of Chinese and Integrative Medicine: A Systematic Review
ConclusionsAlthough clinical practice guidelines in cardiovascular domain of Chinese have gained increasing concern, with both quantity and quality improved, there is still huge gap in methodology and reporting standards between CM guidelines and international ones. On the one hand, it is essential to improve and standardize the methodology of developing CM guidelines. On the other hands, the evaluation system of evidence and recommendation with CM characters should be developed urgently.

Cardiac imaging in heart failure in the personalized medicine era: Pathway to knowledge or Tiresias' paradox?
Abstract Tiresias was the blind prophet of Apollo in Thebes. Tiresias is a symbolic figure, which embodies a paradox: he is blind in the physical sense, but his knowledge surpasses all, as opposed to Oedipus who cannot see despite having a good eyesight. Cardiac imaging can be considered the technological extension of human eyes, which has clearly revolutionised the diagnostic approach in Cardiology and specifically in heart failure. Echocardiography contributed to an approach focused on the ejection fraction (EF) which is the cornerstone of the most recent classifications of heart failure. The recent advances in ...
