Effects of bariatric surgery on the central nervous system and eating behavior in humans: a systematic review on the neuroimaging studies
CONCLUSIONS: Bariatric surgery might normalize the activity of central areas concerned with reward and incentive salience processing, as the nucleus accumbens and mesencephalic tegmental ventral area, as well as circuitries processing behavioral inhibition, as the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex.INTRODUÇÃO: Estudos de neuroimagem sugerem que indivíduos obesos podem apresentar hiperatividade de áreas cerebrais associadas à recompensa e hipoatividade em áreas associadas ao controle cognitivo quando expostos a pistas alimentares.

Mothers' perceptions about the nutritional status of their overweight children: a systematic review.
CONCLUSION: despite the increasing prevalence of obesity in pediatric age, mothers have difficulty in properly perceiving the nutritional status of their children, which may compromise referral to treatment programs. PMID: 24746809 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Physical activity and nutrition education at the school environment aimed at preventing childhood obesity: evidence from systematic reviews.
CONCLUSIONS: Although the summary identified evidence with important applications in terms of public health, there are still gaps to be filled in this field of knowledge, such as the effectiveness of different theoretical models, the identification of the best strategies in relation to gender and age of participants and, finally, the identification of moderating variables to maximize the benefits provided by the interventions. Overview of meta-analyses on prevention and treatment of childhood obesity.
CONCLUSION: The systematic reviews of interventions to prevent or reduce obesity in children and adolescents generally showed little or no effects on weight or body mass index, although cardiovascular profile can be improved. Mixed interventions demonstrated better effects, but the long-term impact of obesity treatments of children and adolescents remains unclear. PMID: 30121174 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Exploring the role of physical activity and exercise for managing vascular comorbidities in people with multiple sclerosis: A scoping review
ConclusionsEvidence points to a potential relationship between PA and exercise and risk factors related to vascular comorbidities in people with MS. PA and exercise training interventions may represent an effective therapeutic strategy for managing vascular comorbidities in people with MS, justifying further investigation.

Sleep and weight-height development.
CONCLUSIONS: The association between shorter sleep duration and risk of overweight and obesity is well established for all pediatric age groups. However, more evidence is needed to establish an association between insufficient sleep duration and height growth deficit. Pediatricians should include the encouragement of healthy sleep habits in their routine guidelines as an adjuvant in the prevention and management of excess weight. Eating behavior in obesity and its correlation with nutritional treatment
Conclusion: Long-acting injectable antipsychotics are a tool in the management of mental disorders, and a viable alternative to oral medication. Patients show curiosity towards this method of administration, but lack of knowledge is a common finding. Shared decision making about the use of LAIs antipsychotics requires that patients receive accurate information and support for their decision regarding medication.RESUMO Objetivo: Compreender melhor de que forma a terapia com antipsic óticos injetáveis de ação prolongada (IAP) é percebida pelos pacientes.

Is vein damage the only cause of clinical signs of lower limb chronic venous insufficiency?
Conclusions: Hypotonic phlebopathy was very prevalent, particularly among young women who were not obese.

HDL-C and non-HDL-C levels are associated with anthropometric and biochemical parameters
Conclusions Our results show that both HDL-c and non-HDL-c are associated with insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, atherogenic indices, and obesity. There is therefore a need for randomized clinical intervention trials examining the potential role of non-HDL-c as a possible primary therapeutic target. O...

Portal vein thrombosis in laparoscopic vertical gastrectomy – laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy: a case series

Are young Iranian women with metabolically healthy obesity at increased risk of CVD incidence?
Conclusions Results of the present study demonstrate that young women displaying the MHO phenotype have a favorable metabolic profile as shown by lower FBS, TG, LDL-c/HDL, Cho/HDL, hs-CRP, and AIP and higher HDL levels than the MUO phenotype. However, MHO individuals were still at greater risk of CVD incidence (lower HDL and higher hs-CRP levels) than MHNW individuals.
