GSE242789 The Effect of Immunotherapy PD-1 Blockade on Acute Bone Cancer Pain: Insights from Transcriptomic and Microbiomic Profiling
Conclusions: Our study underscores fundamental connections among gastrointestinal toxicity, microbiota alterations, and acute cancer pain within the context of tumor immunotherapy. This work provides potential targets for the development of novel analgesics (targeting transcriptomic/microbiota factors), which could enhance the efficacy of bone pain management for cancer patients, ultimately improving their quality of life.

Novel freehand frontal ventriculostomy in the supraorbital keyhole approach: technical note
ConclusionThe novel intraoperative frontal ventriculostomy is a safe trajectory and is a valid alternative to Menovsky ’s ventriculostomy or external lumbar drainage. The authors recommend this technique be generally utilized in supraorbital keyhole approaches to optimize brain relaxation and minimize secondary adverse events.

Patient characteristics, surgical treatment, and outcomes in spinal gout: a systematic review of 315 cases
ConclusionPublished cases of spinal gout have increased over the last decades. Patient characteristics of spinal gout were similar to findings in systemic gout. Trends identified in patient characteristics and treatment outcomes may help guide patient management and improve our understanding of spinal gout.

Effect of height versus height/weight-based spinal bupivacaine on maternal hemodynamics for elective cesarean in short stature patients: a randomized clinical trial
ConclusionWe found that height-based dosing in short parturients provides the optimal trade-off between intraoperative hemodynamic instability and provision of pain-free anesthesia.Trial registrationclinicaltrial.gov-NCT04082676.https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04082676.

Bilateral tonic seizures probably induced by eperisone hydrochloride: a case report
Eperisone hydrochloride is a central muscle relaxant used to treat osteoporosis. Seizures are rare side effects of eperisone hydrochloride and have been previously reported in the medical literature in overdose situations but not at regular doses. This case report describes a 42-year-old male painter who developed severe bilateral tonic seizures after the initiation of eperisone hydrochloride at regular doses for low back pain. Symptoms gradually eased in the days following the discontinuation of eperisone hydrochloride and antiepileptic treatment, with no recurrence. This rare adverse drug reaction warrants clinical aware...

Effect of acupuncture on BDNF signaling pathways in several nervous system diseases
In recent years, the understanding of the mechanisms of acupuncture in the treatment of neurological disorders has deepened, and considerable progress has been made in basic and clinical research on acupuncture, but the relationship between acupuncture treatment mechanisms and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) has not yet been elucidated. A wealth of evidence has shown that acupuncture exhibits a dual regulatory function of activating or inhibiting different BDNF pathways. This review focuses on recent research advances on the effect of acupuncture on BDNF and downstream signaling pathways in several neurological di...

The emerging role of lncRNAs in osteoarthritis development and potential therapy
Osteoarthritis impairs the functions of various joints, such as knees, hips, hands and spine, which causes pain, swelling, stiffness and reduced mobility in joints. Multiple factors, including age, joint injuries, obesity, and mechanical stress, could contribute to osteoarthritis development and progression. Evidence has demonstrated that genetics and epigenetics play a critical role in osteoarthritis initiation and progression. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) have been revealed to participate in osteoarthritis development. In this review, we describe the pivotal functions and molecular mechanisms of numerous lncRNAs in osteoarthr...
