Long-Term Effect of Fee-For-Service-Based Reimbursement Cuts on Processes and Outcomes of Care for Stroke: Interrupted Time-Series Study From Taiwan Original Articles
Conclusions— There are improvement trends in processes and outcomes of care over time. However, the reimbursement cuts from the FFS-based global budget cap are associated with trend changes in processes and outcomes of care for stroke. The FFS-based reimbursement cuts may have long-term positive and negative associations with stroke care.

Unraveling Obamacare—Can Congress and the Supreme Court Undo Health Care Reform?
ABSTRACT: The elections in 2014 gave control of Congress and several governorships to the Republicans, all of which could have long-ranging ramifications for the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Republicans will renew efforts to repeal Obamacare, but without the supermajority in the Senate, the process may be difficult. Moreover, budget reconciliation cannot be used to negate the entire ACA, and even if successful, President Obama would veto any legislation. Another option is to use a targeted approach to overturn specific provisions of the ACA, including the mandates that individuals obtain health insurance or pay a penalty and...

Abstract B84: Racial/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in access to screening mammograms in a statewide sample of mammography facilities in Illinois
Conclusions: Disparities in equitable access to breast cancer screening and diagnostic services exist within Chicago that are generally absent outside of the city. The concentration of academic medical centers within Chicago, while increasing access to quality breast healthcare, has also introduced racial/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities due to unequal access to these academic medical centers.Citation Format: Bethliz Irizarry, Katherine Y. Abstract IA10: Financial distress in patients with cancer: Contributing factors and potential solutions
As the cost of cancer care in the United States continues to rise at an unprecedented rate, cancer patients are struggling to pay their share of the bill. Along with other measures of financial distress, cancer patients are 2.65 times more likely to file for bankruptcy than patients without cancer. Several recent reports suggest that individuals who face such financial challenges during treatment are more likely to report treatment non-adherence, poorer quality of life, and may suffer worse clinical outcomes. Despite an increasing awareness of "financial toxicity" among cancer patients, few oncology practices have processe...

Abstract B69: Cervical and anal HPV serotype-specific prevalence among high-risk indigent women in substance abuse recovery
Conclusion: The HPV serotypes observed in this study provide baseline HPV prevalence rates for monitoring future HPV vaccination efforts in this and similar underserved populations. This is significant since one of the fastest growing segments of the criminal population are women offenders serving time on probation for low level offenses related to drug activity and prostitution. HPV vaccination programs in this target population may need to be broadened to include mid-adult women and other serotypes in addition to HPV 16/18.Citation Format: Martha J. Abstract B86: Disparities in mammogram screening among women with access to care: The role of socioeconomic status and education
Conclusions: Improving access to mammography is an important health policy concern. The crucial role of insurance coverage and access to primary care cannot be undermined. However, social determinants such as education and socio-economic level are also vital as lack of awareness and poor knowledge regarding breast cancer screening, language and financial barriers continue to persist among the vulnerable population. Particularly in women with a usual source of care, provider recommendations and improving patient's satisfaction with care can prove vital to boost timely screening by building trust in the healthcare system. Changes in prostate cancer screening practice by blood PSA testing between 2011 and 2017, a French population-based study
CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that in France, PCa screening is a primary care issue. Although PCa screening remains controversial and confusion exists about the best practice, our study showed a linear decrease of blood PSA test prescriptions for 50-52-year-old men between 2011 and 2017, although the reason for screening was unknown. As clinical information was not available, additional evidence is needed to determine the real impact of this decrease on the cancer-specific and overall mortality.PMID:34134580 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2021.1944075

Awareness, attitude and barriers of colorectal cancer screening among high-risk populations in China: a cross-sectional study
Conclusion In China, the majority of high-risk people had deficient knowledge and had never undergone colorectal cancer screening. But most of them held a positive attitude towards the benefits of colorectal cancer screening. This has promising implications to design targeted educational campaigns and establish screening programmes to improve colorectal cancer awareness and screening participation. Healthcare professionals should advise high-risk individuals to participate in screening and inform them about cancer risk.
