Origins of Cerebral Edema: Implications for Spaceflight-Associated Neuro-Ocular Syndrome
Conclusions: Using the pathophysiology of cerebral edema as a model, hypotheses can be inferred as to the etiology of ODE in SANS. Further studies are needed to determine the presence and contribution of local vascular stasis and resulting inflammation and oxidative stress to the pathophysiology of SANS.

Self-Reported Weight and Height Among Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Patients
Background: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) mostly affects overweight and obese women. Severe obesity is associated with poorer visual outcomes in IIH, and weight gain can precipitate IIH and increase the risk of recurrence. Conversely, weight loss can decrease intracranial pressure and is an effective IIH treatment. Therefore, accurate monitoring of weight and body mass index (BMI) is important to help guide the management of IIH patients. Our goal was to compare estimated and measured BMI among patients with presumed IIH and non-IIH controls to determine whether these vital signs should be systematically mea...

Utilization of Visual Acuity Retroilluminated Charts for the Assessment of Afferent Visual System Dysfunction in a Pediatric Neuroimmunology Population
Conclusions: Although visual acuity charts are formatted by the distance, there are significant differences in the number of letters correctly identified between 2-m and 4-m charts. Although the differences may not impact the clinical acuity, research protocols should consider these differences before collapsing data across disparate studies.

Oculomotor Nerve Palsy Due to Unusual Causes
Conclusions: Localizing the lesion of oculomotor nerve palsy and careful examination of the imaging is crucial. Aberrant regeneration, cyclic pupil changes, and past medical history of amblyopia, strabismus, or radiation are also very helpful for diagnosis.

Quality indicators in neuro-oncology: Review of the literature and development of a new quality indicator set for glioma care through a two-round Delphi survey
ConclusionThis study defined a set of 47 QIs for assessing quality of care in adult glioma patients, distributed amongst 7 crucial phases in the patient ’s care trajectory. These QIs are readily applicable for use in diverse health care systems, depending on the availability of population-based health care data enabling (inter)national benchmarking.
