Hemodynamic neuro-ophthalmic complications from hemodialysis (P5.191)
Conclusions:Hemodialysis patients have complex hemodynamic issues rarely seen in other populations. Right sided AV fistulas may raise the central venous pressure and result in elevated intracranial pressure particularly with coexistent venous pathology. In addition, dialysis patients often have widespread vascular disease and auto regulatory dysfunction being more sensitive to hypotensive complications from ultrafiltration. Clinicians should be aware of the neuro-ophthalmic complications specific to this population in order to diagnose and manage such complications effectively.Disclosure: Dr. Rasool has nothing to disclose...

The use of optical coherence tomography in neuro-ophthalmology
Purpose of review In the last decade, with the advances of optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology, different imaging protocols and analysis algorithms have been introduced to maximize the potential of this diagnostic tool in the evaluation of different eye diseases. This review aims to provide an update on these additional features, with respect to the management of a diverse range of neuro-ophthalmologic conditions. Recent findings Macular ganglion cell complex (mGCC) analysis has been shown to be superior to peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (pRNFL) analysis in certain settings, such as differentiating Lebe...

E-075 neurosarcoidosis presenting as aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: an interesting case and novel treatment
Neurosarcoidosis, the term used for sarcoidosis involving the central nervous system, represents an uncommon form of sarcoidosis, found in a 5% of patients with systemic sarcoidosis. Clinically evident cerebrovascular involvement in neurosarcoidosis has been reported but appears to be an extremely rare manifestation of neurosarcoidosis. The literature describes these cerebral vasculopathic changes as areas of stenosis and/or vascular irregularity, with clinical manifestations including headache, ischemic stroke, and parenchymal hemorrhage. Neurosarcoidosis has even been described as the etiology for a case of moyamoya synd...

Case Report: Uncommon Presentation of Neurosarcoidosis (P6.027)
CONCLUSIONS: Neurosarcoidosis is an atypical but treatable cause of subarachnoid hemorrhage. Complete work up is often challenging but essential in establishing a diagnosis that leads to optimal treatment.Study Supported by: Not applicable Disclosure: Dr. Lee has nothing to disclose. Neurosarcoidosis Presenting with Prominent Periventricular White-Matter Lesions during Steroid Treatment for Autoimmune Hepatitis
A 63-year-old woman under treatment of autoimmune hepatitis presented with headache, memory loss, and somnolence. Three months before admission, the patient experienced liver inflammation relapse after prednisolone (PSL) cessation. Consequently, PSL was resumed and then tapered. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination showed lymphocytic pleocytosis with remarkably reduced glucose and elevated angiotensin-converting enzyme and soluble interleukin-2 receptor levels. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed prominent bilateral periventricular white-matter lesions, hydrocephalus, ischemic stroke with gadolinium enhancement of f...

Angiographic assessment of atherosclerotic load at the lower extremity in patients with diabetic foot and charcot neuro-arthropathy
Conclusion This angiographic study confirms that the atherosclerotic load in patients with diabetic foot and chronic charcot neuro-arthropathy is significantly less than in patients with neuroischemic diabetic foot wounds without chronic charcot neuro-arthropathy.

Ganglioglioma revealed by spontaneous intracerebral hematoma: a cohort study
CONCLUSION: ICH may be a mode of revelation of ganglioglioma, and ganglioglioma is a possible etiology of atypical ICH in young patients. Long-term imaging follow-up is mandatory in patients with unexplained ICH.PMID:35257724 | DOI:10.1016/j.neuchi.2022.02.008

The Evaluation of Vertebrobasilar Artery System in Neuro-Behçet and Behçet Disease using Magnetic Resonance Angiography.
Abstract The aim of this study is the evaluation of the vertebrobasilar artery system in patients with Behçet's and Neuro-Behçet's disease. For this aim; 20 adults with clinically diagnosed Behcet's disease, 20 adults with Neuro-Behçet's disease, and 19 age- and gender-matched controls were examined by magnetic resonance angiography (MRA). During MRA, diameters of left vertebral artery (LVA), right vertebral artery (RVA), basilar artery (BA), and proximal segment (P1) of posterior cerebral artery between origin and junction with the posterior communicating artery were measured. In all groups, LVA was dominant t...

Neuro-endoscopic management of hemorrhagic moyamoya disease in the acute stage: single institute experience.
Conclusion: Neuro-endoscopic hematoma removal may be the optimal management method for hemorrhagic MMD in the acute stage in terms of the maximum preservation of pre-existing collateral anastomosis without affecting the potential donor vessels used for future revascularization surgery. Neuro-Behcet disease presenting as a solitary cerebellar hemorrhagic lesion: a case report and review of the literature
ConclusionsThese findings suggest that the patient ’s cerebellar hemorrhage could have been due to intracranial vasculitis in a rare, if not unique, complication of neuro-Behcet’s disease.

In light of recently published clinical trials and their implication for clinical practice, does a large catchment area acute hospital require 24  hour CT neck and head angiography and/or neuro-interventional services in the setting of acute ischaemic stroke?
ConclusionUHL should provide routine CT angiography to all patients presenting with acute ischaemic stroke in line with current guidelines. The need for provision of neuro-interventional services on-site proved more difficult to assess and requires further analysis.
