Effectiveness of patient activation interventions on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease self-management outcomes: A systematic review
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that patient activation can be used as a reliable tool for improving chronic obstructive pulmonary disease self-management and clinical outcomes; however, it should encompass all aspects of patient activation, especially the emotional aspect.PMID:35034409 | DOI:10.1111/ajr.12828

Inhaled antibiotics for pulmonary exacerbations in cystic fibrosis
CONCLUSIONS: We identified only low- or very low-certainty evidence to judge the effectiveness of inhaled antibiotics for the treatment of pulmonary exacerbations in people with cystic fibrosis. The included trials were not sufficiently powered to achieve their goals. Hence, we are unable to demonstrate whether one treatment was superior to the other or not. Further research is needed to establish whether inhaled tobramycin may be used as an alternative to intravenous tobramycin for some pulmonary exacerbations.PMID:35914011 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD008319.pub4

Outcomes of Over 40,000 Eyes Treated for Diabetic Macula Edema in Routine Clinical Practice: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
ConclusionsIntravitreal anti-VEGF or steroids for DME generally led to visual gains in real-world practice but these were less impressive than RCTs, with undertreatment and differences in baseline characteristics likely contributing factors.

Equity-Relevant Sociodemographic Variable Collection in Emergency Medicine: A Systematic Review, Qualitative Evidence Synthesis & amp; Recommendations for Practice
CONCLUSIONS: Health systems should routinely collect sociodemographic variables in EDs guided by recommendations that minimize harms, maximize benefits and consider relevant barriers and facilitators. Our recommendations can serve as a guide for the equity-focused reformation of EM health information systems.PMID:36398908 | DOI:10.1111/acem.14629

Climate change and marketing: a bibliometric analysis of research from 1992 to 2022
This study examined such connections and relationships from a bibliometric approach using Web of Science and Scopus databases from 1992 to 2022. The search strategy utilized topic and title/abstract/keyword search. The search query retrieved 1723 documents. VOSviewer and Biblioshiny were utilized to analyze data on authors, keywords, institutions, countries, sources, citations, and co-citations. The findings showed an upward trend in the annual number of publications with the top three most productive countries being the USA, the UK, and Australia and the most productive institutions in the USA, New Zealand, and the UK. Th...

Personalised interventions for subgroups of children with conduct problems
CONCLUSIONS: There is limited evidence for the effectiveness of personalised interventions for subgroups of children with conduct problems. The certainty of evidence for all outcomes was very low, meaning that we have very little confidence in the estimated effects and the true effects may be different to our findings, which will limit the relevance of our findings to clinical decisions. To overcome the limitations of the evidence, large-scale RCTs are needed to determine whether personalised interventions, adapted or developed, for subgroups of children with conduct problems are effective in improving outcomes. Consensus ...

Successes and challenges of primary health care in Australia: A scoping review and comparative analysis
CONCLUSION: Primary health care in Australia, which has evolved through major reforms, has been adapting to the complex health care needs of the socio-culturally diversified nation, and has achieved many of the PC attributes, including service diversity, accessibility, acceptability, and quality of care. Yet, there are persistent gaps in service delivery to socio-economically disadvantaged populations, including indigenous people, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations, and rural- and remote-residents. These challenges could be mitigated through system-wide and targeted policy-level intervention to furthe...

Mental Health First Aid as a tool for improving mental health and well-being
CONCLUSIONS: We cannot draw conclusions about the effects of MHFA training on our primary outcomes due to the lack of good quality evidence. This is the case whether it is compared to no intervention, to an alternative mental health literacy intervention, or to an active control. Studies are at high risk of bias and often not sufficiently large to be able to detect differences.PMID:37606172 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD013127.pub2

Models of clinical supervision of relevance to remote area nursing & amp; primary health care: A scoping review
CONCLUSION: Our study recommends a hybrid clinical supervision model suitable for consultation and validation through pilot testing with remote area nurses. There is potential for this model to be used globally in isolated contexts due to the option of virtual participation.PMID:37694928 | DOI:10.1111/ajr.13038
