Physical activity, sedentary time and nutritional status in Brazilian children with cerebral palsy
CONCLUSIONS: Children with CP spend more than a half of their daily time in sedentary activity. In contrast, children with mild to moderate CP spent twice as much time in moderate to vigorous PA and had a tendency (p = 0.07) to spend 50% more time in light PA. Moreover, time spent on moderate to vigorous activity was inversely related to fat mass.PMID:34506748 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2021.07.005

Management of children with functional constipation referred to tertiary care
CONCLUSIONS: Children with FC are often referred to specialized care not receiving optimal therapy. Many patients whose FC was labeled "refractory" may be treated successfully with a well-established plan of care, and do not truly present intractable constipation.PMID:34506747 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2021.06.006

Breastfeeding in infants seen in Brazilian private pediatric practices and its relation with type of delivery and history of prematurity
CONCLUSION: Breastfeeding was the only milk source for more than half of infants before 180 days of life. Birth by cesarean section and history of prematurity were negatively associated with breastfeeding as the only source of the milk used in infant feeding.PMID:34508665 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2021.06.009

Skin-to-skin contact and deaths in newborns weighing up to 1800 grams: a cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: The first SSC before 206 hours of life is recommended in order to observe a reduction in the risk of neonatal death. Staying in SSC for more than 146.9 min/day seems to be clinically beneficial for these neonates mostly when it was associated with the absence of infection.PMID:34670115 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2021.09.001

Anterior fontanelle closure and diagnosis of non-syndromic craniosynostosis: a comparative study using computed tomography
CONCLUSION: The results of this comparative study of AF closure and CS diagnosis suggest that early AF closure does not imply a diagnosis of CS. Pediatricians should be aware of the risk of misdiagnosis of CS in cases with a widely open AF in spite of the presence of CS.PMID:34861206 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2021.10.004
