Diagnosis and treatment of traumatic vascular injury of limbs in military and emergency medicine: A systematic review
Conclusion: We point out the frontier of the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic vascular injury, also with a new model of wartime injury treatment in American (forward surgical teams and combat support hospitals), French military surgeons regarding management of war-related vascular wounds and Chinese military (“3 districts and 7 grades” model). Many issues remain to be resolved by further experience and investigation.

Case Report: Perifoveal Exudative Vascular Anomalous Complex in a Chinese Patient with Diabetes Mellitus
CONCLUSIONS Perifoveal exudative vascular anomalous complex is an isolated, perifoveal, aneurysmal abnormality. It can occur in healthy patients, in addition to those with diabetes mellitus without retinopathy. In contrast to similar macular vascular anomalies, PEVAC does not typically respond to anti–vascular endothelial growth factor therapy.

IJERPH, Vol. 17, Pages 2388: The Relationship Exploration between Public Migration Attention and Population Migration from a Perspective of Search Query
Duan Rapid population migration has been viewed as a critical factor impacting urban network construction and regional sustainable development. The supervision and analysis of population migration are necessary for guiding the optimal allocation of urban resources and for attaining the high efficiency development of region. Currently, the explorations of population migration are often restricted by the limitation of data. In the information era, search engines widely collect public attention, implying potential individual actions, and freely provide open, timelier, and large-scope search query data for helping explore...

Determinants of Brachial-Ankle Pulse Wave Velocity and Vascular Aging in Healthy Older Subjects.
CONCLUSIONS Male, high BMI, low heart rate, and low triglycerides are protective factors for vascular aging in the healthy aged population. Management of BMI, heart rate, triglycerides in a reasonable range may help to alleviate the vascular aging process. PMID: 32445331 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Xanthorrhizol Suppresses Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor-Induced Angiogenesis by Modulating Akt/eNOS Signaling and the NF-Formula: see textB-Dependent Expression of Cell Adhesion Molecules
Am J Chin Med. 2021 Mar 5:1-15. doi: 10.1142/S0192415X21500348. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAngiogenesis plays a crucial role in tumor growth and metastasis. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-stimulated endothelial cell proliferation and migration are critical steps in tumor angiogenesis. Here, we investigated the anti-angiogenic activity of xanthorrhizol, a sesquiterpenoid isolated from the Indonesian medicinal plant Curcuma xanthorrhiza. Xanthorrhizol at noncytotoxic concentrations inhibited the proliferation, migration, and formation of capillary-like tubes in VEGF-treated human umbilical vein endothelial cell...

IJERPH, Vol. 18, Pages 4264: Using Internet Search Queries to Assess Public Awareness of the Healthy Cities Approach: A Case Study in Shenzhen, China
In this study, we used internet search queries to evaluate the public awareness of the Healthy Cities approach applied in Shenzhen, China. The overall situation at the city level and the intercity variations were both analyzed. Additionally, we explored the factors that might affect the internet search queries of the Healthy Cities approach. Our results showed that the public awareness of the approach in Shenzhen was low. There was a high intercity heterogeneity in terms of interest in the various components of the Healthy Cities approach. However, we did not find a significant effect of the selected demographic, environme...

Correlation between retinal vascular parameters and cystatin C in patients with type 2 diabetes
ConclusionsMultiple retinal vascular geometrical and caliber measurements are associated with cystatin C in type 2 diabetic patients. Further studies are needed to explore whether these retinal vascular changes can predict the incidence and progress of diabetic nephropathy.

Perturbation of amino acid metabolism mediates air pollution associated vascular dysfunction in healthy adults
Environ Res. 2021 Jun 21:111512. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2021.111512. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe molecular mechanisms of air pollution-associated adverse cardiovascular effects remain largely unknown. In the present study, we investigated the impacts of ambient air pollution on vascular function and the potential mediation effects of amino acids in a longitudinal follow-up of 73 healthy adults living in Beijing, China, between 2014 and 2016. We estimated associations between air pollutants and serum soluble intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (sICAM-1) and plasma levels of amino acids using linear mixed-effects models, ...

Household air pollution and blood pressure, vascular damage and sub-clinical indicators of cardiovascular disease in older Chinese adults
CONCLUSIONS: These findings add to limited evidence that household air pollution is associated with higher BP and with greater CIMT and total plaque area.PMID:34505873 | DOI:10.1093/ajh/hpab141
