Comparative study of peroperative events and early results of manufactured and homemade fenestrated stentgrafts
The objective of this study was to compare the peroperative adverse events (POAE) and the 30-day results of manufactured fenestrated/branched stentgrafts manufactured (MFBS) and fenestrated stentgrafts modified by surgeon (FSMS) for the treatment of thoraco-abdominal and complex abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Numeric simulation predicts iliac complications during the implantation of an aortic stentgraft
The objective of this study was to evaluate the power of a biomechanical model which allows to simulate the arterial deformations caused by the introduction of the wires and the stentgraft during EVAR to predict the coverage of the internal iliac artery.

Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-Derived Megakaryocytes and Platelets for Disease Modeling and Clinical Use.
Abstract Platelets, derived from megakaryocytes, are anucleate cytoplasmic discs that circulate in the blood stream and play major roles in hemostasis, inflammation, and vascular biology. Platelet transfusions are used in a variety of medical settings to prevent life-threatening thrombocytopenia because of cancer therapy, other causes of acquired or inherited thrombocytopenia, and trauma. Currently, platelets used for transfusion purposes are donor derived. However, there is a drive to generate nondonor sources of platelets to help supplement donor-derived platelets. Efforts have been made by many laboratories to ...

Three-dimensional digital imaging is as accurate and reliable to measure leg ulcer area as transparent tracing with digital planimetry
Conclusions The 3D LifeViz digital imaging system is a noncontact stereophotographic method that provides measurements of VLU area or changes in VLU areas that are as accurate and reliable as those obtained using the planimetry method and in conditions as close as possible to those of a clinical trial.

Search for RASA1 Variants in Capillary Malformations of the Legs in 113 Children: Results From the French National Paediatric Cohort CONAPE.
In conclusion, RASA1 variants are rarely found in children with CM of the limbs without CM-AVM syndrome, but might be of several variations and especially with multifocal and bilateral CM. CMs in this study were heterogeneous, and no disease-causing relationship could be proven. PMID: 29110021 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Is there an obesity paradox in pulmonary arterial hypertension?
Conclusions: We found no association between obesity and survival in a large cohort of incident IPAH, DPAH and HPAH patients. Previous evidence of an obesity paradox in pulmonary hypertension may be related to other confounding factors.
