Internet Search Trends Relevant to Interventional Oncology: A Google Trends Study (2004 –2020)
This study pinpoints temporal and geographical trends of public online searches for terms related to the field, as well as IR-related cancer therapies. Google Trends data were analyzed for long-term (2004 –2020) trends in the United States and worldwide. Overall, search interest for IR increased throughout the United States but decreased globally.

A national resident survey about the current state of venous education in vascular surgery training programs
Conclusions In this national survey-based study of vascular surgery trainees, we demonstrate a perceived weakness in venous disease case volumes and didactic education in residency. This training deficit is apparent in both integrated (0 + 5) and traditional (5 + 2) training pathways. Our data suggest that expansion of the venous disease curriculum with clear training standards is warranted and that trainees would welcome such a change.

Increasing the number of integrated vascular surgery residency positions is important to address the impending shortage of vascular surgeons in the United States
The demand for vascular surgeons is expected to far exceed the current supply. In an attempt to decrease the training duration and to address the impending shortage, integrated vascular surgery residencies were approved and have expanded nationally. Meanwhile, vascular fellowships have continued to matriculate approximately 120 trainees annually. We sought to evaluate the supply and demand for integrated vascular residency positions as well as changes in the quality of applicants.

Cardiva Medical wins FDA PMA for Vascade MVP vascular closure device
Cardiva Medical said today it won FDA premarket approval for its Vascade MVP venous vascular closure device. The Vascade MVP system is composed of a thrombogenic bioabsorbable collagen patch and a collapsible mesh disc, the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company said. FDA approves Intact Vascular ’ s Tack dissection repair device
The FDA last week granted pre-market approval to the Tack endovascular repair device developed by Intact Vascular. The Wayne, Pa.-based company’s Tack system is designed to repair dissection complications during balloon angioplasty for peripheral artery disease. Vascular surgery's identity
It is our belief that improving the identity of vascular surgery and vascular surgeons will directly lead to improved care of patients having vascular diseases. To understand why we hold this opinion, the origins of vascular surgery and its evolution as a defined specialty must be examined. It also requires an understanding of how specialties are recognized in the United States and what vascular surgery's place is in the hierarchy of medicine.

An analysis of gender disparities amongst United States medical students, general surgery residents, vascular surgery trainees and the vascular surgery workforce
Gender diversity in medicine continues to be a critical topic and gender diversity within surgical fields remains an overarching challenge. In the following review, we objectively address the data available in terms of training slots for women in general and vascular surgery and within the vascular surgery workforce. Overall women comprise 36% of active physicians in the 2019 Association of American Medical Colleges ’ (AAMC) data. The number of women in surgical fields is lower representing 22% in general surgery, 9% in neurosurgery, 6% in orthopedic surgery, 17% in plastic surgery, 8% in thoracic surgery and 15% in vascular surgery.
