Age at menarche in schoolgirls with and without excess weight.
CONCLUSIONS: Although the students from private schools belonged to a higher socioeconomic status, there is currently no longer a large gap between them and girls from public schools regarding nutritional and socioeconomic factors that may influence the age at menarche.

Reference curves of the body fat index in adolescents and their association with anthropometric variables.
CONCLUSION: The body fat index seems to reflect well the phenomena of sexual dimorphism in adolescence, is easy to perform, and represents a method that should be used in population samples.

Screen time impairs the relationship between physical fitness and academic attainment in children.
CONCLUSIONS: Academic attainment is associated with higher cardiorespiratory fitness levels; however, it was weakly impaired by screen time. These findings seem to suggest that parents and policymakers should minimize the negative effects of screen time on children's lives to maximize the beneficial effect of healthy habits on academic attainment.

Parents' perception of health-related quality of life in children and adolescents with excess weight.
CONCLUSIONS: A negative impact on HRQOL of children/adolescents with overweight/obesity was observed in the physical and psychosocial aspects. The nutritional status was the variable with the greatest contribution for the assessment the self-esteem of children and adolescents in this study.

Validation of the Disordered Eating Attitude Scale for adolescents
Conclusion Results indicate that the DEAS adolescent version showed good internal consistency, convergent validity, known-groups validity, and test-retest reliability, suggesting its potential in identifying disordered eating attitudes among adolescents. Increased ApoB/ApoA1 ratio is associated with excess weight, body adiposity, and altered lipid profile in children.
CONCLUSION: The increased ApoB/ApoA1 ratio was associated with excess weight, body adiposity (total and central), and altered lipid profile in children. Children with a higher number of cardiovascular risk factors had higher ApoB/ApoA1 ratio, in both genders.

Maternal restrictive feeding practices for child weight control and associated characteristics.
